BLT Decision Help!

I agree with Maribel. One other thing, especially if you will be continuing to vacation at WDW. We bought our first points in 1999, at $65 a point at BWV. (just doublechecked my records to be sure about that). We all know what they are now! We added on BLT points this year, and even though the current price is a big ouch, I am so excited and hope to stay there for my birthday this year. This BLT contract will outlive me, but it will go to my daughter, who loves Disney as much as I do. The bottom line is, points are just going to go up in price and Maribel made some very good observations. It would be a shame to regret passing up DVC a few years down the line. (Also remember the "buy where you want to stay" advice. It is golden!) :stitch: :stitch: :eeyore: Good luck and congratulations!

I understand your concern with the financial feasibility of a DVC purchase. That is one aspect, but in all honesty, many things that we do and that we love are not financially feasible. Having children, for example. How much does it cost today to raise a child to adulthood??????? But we do it anyway, in a heartbeat and don't give that part of it too much thought.

What DVC means to us is beyond financial. When DH was suddenly out of work a few years ago, we were still able to take a vacation which emotionally helped us get through that tough time and kept our life a little stable. You can't put a price tag on that. The fact that we now can give a few points here and there to our children so they can stay in WDW where they otherwise could not afford to do so - there is no price tag on that.

I guess what I am saying is that you never know what life with toss your way. What we do have is the guarantee of a vacation until we are too old to do it anymore. That makes it all worth while.

Good luck with your decision.
