BLT/BWV Studio in November??

We are brand new DVC Owners and are planning our trip for November. Since we bought once we were already inside of our 11 month window for our "home" resort, our room of choice is unavailable. As we look at our 2nd and 3rd choices, (BLT and BWV studios, any view) we obviously cant even check availability until the 7 month window. My question was, have any BLT/BWV owners had problems obtaining studios for early to mid November.

I am not even sure if I am allowed to ask this in this forum, but I thought Id give it a shot!! Thanks in advance for any help and sorry in advance if this topic/question cant be answered!!!

so getting it at either BWV or BLT might be hard.

If you haven't already, waitlist at your home resort. There's still a lot of time for it to come through.

If your early November dates include "Jersey Week", your chances are not as good as they would be for the second week of November. Thanksgiving week and the week after are quite popular, too. But there are always reports of people getting what they want at 7 months or of their waitlist working. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

But again, call when your 7 month window opens and see what you is available - you never know until you call. Don't be afraid to waitlist - you can have up to two active waitlists going at a time.

Whatever you wanted at AKV, I would waitlist for it now instead of just sitting around until your seven month mark!
Actually, I would book something at AKV, I'm assuming you like it since you bought there, just in case you can't get a studio at the other places at 7 months.

We definitely booked a room at AKV the day we were allowed! I am just one of those "plan way ahead" types and it is just driving me crazy not knowing what is available. We are going to be staying at AKV quite often, we just want to see what else is out there.

Because availability changes day by day, there won't be any way to know what will be available at seven months when you book - even if it is open right now. Its something you'll have to get used to if you are going to "sleep around" with DVC. What is open now will have no relationship to what is open two plus months from now when the booking window for early November opens.

We always book "home" as soon as we have an idea of what our plans will be and we can book (usually the day booking opens). If we want to switch (which is rare), we make a list in priority order. If we get our first choice, great, if not we go to our second (which might be staying where we are).

As far as "sleeping around", we are completely happy and content with staying at AKV everytime we go to Disney, but we have always rotated hotels in Disney and if we have that opportunity with DVC, we plan on doing the same.

Thank you for pointing that out. I guess I can add to that although, like you said, not sure how many people contribute to it.

It can work the other way as well. There may be rooms not available somewhere, but at seven months, the resort that was booked has a lot of people who want a different resort that switch. A few years ago there was a "gridlock" situation for early December - lots of people wanted to move, but with everything booked up, there wasn't any where to move to. Once there were a few cancellations, things started to move around.

Most are still going to have availability now - with the possible exception of specialty rooms (like BWV/BLT standard view).

We usually book our home resort 11 months out and then transfer somewhere else at the 7-month window. We usually travel in May during the flower and garden show at Epcot. Maybe we've just been lucky. But my experience has been if our request is made early, our request is fulfilled. We're hoping to get into BLT this November, but in a 2 bedroom.

Thanks for your help, we are hoping for either BLT for Mickeys Xmas Party and Ive always wanted to stay at CR! If not, we are good at AKV!!! Enjoy your trip!
