She seemed suprised that I hadn't called yesterday, because we are checking in on the 30th and I've always called starting the day after check in because the calendar starts at the check out date...is it in realtion to check in now?

Yes, booking is now 7/11 months from check-in. If you call 7/11 months from the date of check-in they will allow you to book up to 7 nights.
