BLT, any chance at 7 months?

Just wondering how booking BLT has been. Any chance getting in if it isn't your home resort?

Yes. I did that for this summer - got a 2BR MK view. Actually better availability than the SSR treehouses (which I had to wait list to get all my nights, even with SSR points).

Until BLT sells out, it should be pretty possible.

BLT's selling out has little to do with ability to book. If BLT is 50% sold now then members are entitled to about 50% of the booking time. Selling out would just mean you would about double the number of owners who would be entitled to about double the booking time (Disney always retains about 2 to 4%). In other words the ratio does not really change.

You should assume with BLT that it may be difficult to get it at 7 months if seeking high demand times such as holiday weeks, December, heavy spring break weeks, possibly some others. You should also assume that it will be hit or miss almost all year (and likely usually miss) for any MK or standard view because they are a small percentage of the resort. Finally, if you really want something be prepared to call at exactly 7 months out because if you delay much beyond that date there may be nothing left even if there was a good portion of availability at 7 months out.

I booked a one-bedroom lake view a little less than seven months out. And, FWIW, I did it online.

I booked a 1 bedroom LV for this past May (first week) at the 7 month window and used my SSR points. But this fall I booked a 2 bedroom standard view for Oct. 31-Nov4 with my home resort 11 month window. I bought in at BLT just to use my BLT points for standard view -- the same reason I bought into BWV.

I got a 1BR LV at BLT at 8 weeks (for Mother's Day Weekend).

But I imagine that was pixie dust from my guide (we bought that day).

This past March/April, I booked (in early March) a SV studio at BLT for mid-April--made the reservation about 5 weeks out...could have been just luck, of course...but I got it...it was a Thurs-Mon booking and so maybe it being "mostly weekend" helped...

Currently, it should be a little easier for non-BLT owners to secure rooms at BLT before it is sold out. DVD has declared 4,223,135 points at BLT, but they have sold only 3,347,148 points to date. This difference of 875,987 declared-but-unsold points is the equivalent of 44.6 two-bedroom villas. This means that, in theory, if all BLT owners book all their points at BLT during the home resort window, there would still be 44.6 two-bedroom villas left for non-BLT owners to reserve at the 7-month mark. As DVD sells more points at BLT, there will be more BLT owners and the declared-but-unsold inventory will diminish. In the meantime, if you are flexible regarding the view category, you stand a good chance of getting into BLT at the 7-month window. Good luck!!

I was able to book a 1 bedroom standard view at BLT exactly at 7 months out using my SSR points. :) Looking forward to our November trip!

Excellent, thanks everyone. Sounds like there will at least be a decent chance of getting into BLT at the 7 month mark with my SSR points.

We're renting for a friend who's home resort is BWV. She was able to switch us to a 2 bedroom LV at her 7 month window. Now my problem is that the flights for the dates we've reserved are 40% more than the days just before or just after our travel dates - and we're going in early November - no holiday issues! We're trying to "shift" the res. a bit, but aren't having any luck. I can't waitlist, because I need to have definite dates to purchase airline tickets from RI! Ah... the plusses and minuses of travel!

Yep! Good chance, I think! We were able to get it around Christmas!!! Believe it or not! We are so thrilled to experience this new hotel during the holdiays! We thought we did not stand a chance! :lmao:

Late last October, I was able to book 2 BLT LV studios for 5 nights in March - no problem. That was just about 4 1/2 months out - on a whim.

Stay hopeful!

I got a BLT Lake View over Christmas (12/22 - 12/26) at the 7-month window. BUT ... I called at exactly when MS opened at the start of the window. I am still on the waitlist for 12/21.

I'm on a waitlist for a BLT studio...Dec. 14 to 17. I decided to extend my stay as a solo for 3 nights. I've AKV studio booked, so I'm set that way, but would like to be at BLT if I can.

I just booked water view studio 1/14 to 1/19/11 at exactly 7 months; I called at 9AM when they opened. I am very excited to try out the new resort & very please I was able to book at 7 months. I got just what I wanted, a water view. I plan to enjoy the electric water parade & the MK fireworks while in this area of the world. :rotfl:

BLT should have an additional category of view rooms to split the bay lake views on the outside with the ones on the inside facing the pool. We stayed there and had specifically requested to stay on a high floor, on the outside, facing north. We were placed in the middle (9th floor) facing the pool. The rooms facing the pool have over half of the view blocked by other rooms. We spent the last four days of our vacation staring at other people on balconies, in various stages of disrobement. We tried to get a MK view, but those had been booked solid from the first day of the seven month booking period for non BLT owners. If DVC had a specific category, I would have either been guaranteed the view I wanted, or would have known I would be getting a pool view and would not have been disappointed. I would have been willing to use more points for the additional view. My advice would be if you cannot get a MK view, don’t bother with a bay lake view. If you get stuck on the inside, your view would be just as good, if not better with a standard view. We were also supposed to be in a 2BR lock off, but got a dedicated 2BR. When we complained, we were told by the CM, “You can see the bay. You’re in a two bedroom. You got what you paid for.” If enough people complain about this, DVC might actually do something about it.
