BLT 2 bed Lock off SV

Just booked the above for 7 nights in July 2011 (16-22). Just looking for reassurance that the SV 'view' isn't too bad. We stayed in a MK view last time but thought we'd give the standard view a try; mainly due to the shocking difference in points compared to a MK view!

We stayed in a SV studio last December and were 3rd floor facing the pool. I did not think the view was bad at all.

We are doing a SV 1 bedroom next summer (August) so that we can do 6 nights instead of 5.

We have also stayed LV a few times and I think that the savings of points outweighs the MK rooms, especially since you can't guarantee you are going to have one of the rooms on a higher floor that might make it worth it.

We have a SV 2 bedroom dedicated reserved for Oct.31-Nov4. We're excited to see what type of view we get. In May we had a LV and looked down on the trees at the entrance of the pool (7th floor). The nice part was that we could see when the grandkids woke up from their naps as the curtains would open and we could see them waving.

We've stayed at BLT 3x so far, ALL in a Standard View 1BR. I can honestly say we've had great views each time. Twice we were on the inside facing the bocce ball court (once on 1st floor & once on 2nd floor) & once on the outside facing the marina & CR (again, first floor).

We are headed back shortly & have a Lake View booked, only because there was no SV availability. I am curious to see if we feel any difference but honestly don't expect to

We are staying first time at BLT in October. When we made the reservation (yes, DVC-BLT owners) we requested 2 brm, MK view. Are we guarenteed Mk View? And what floor does the MK view actually start on?

Just don't want to be on the 2nd floor w a MK view! Does that make sense?

My Understanding is you will want to have a 6th floor room or higher so that the monorail line does not obstruct your view.

MK view rooms begin on floor 3, so you could be as low as that. If you want, you can put in a request for a higher floor, but that is not guaranteed.

We got 9th floor with our MK view. We took our chances and didn't make a room request - we were also offered 11th floor at check in, but the 9th floor room was ready first.


I'm relieved to hear about the standard view - we actually want a low floor this time, so the SV should fit the bill nicely!

SV rooms are all 5th floor or below. Many have good views with obstruction. IE, the odd numbered rooms facing the pool (inside of the crescent) all look at something other than a parking lot, but are just low to the ground. Some of the even rooms (outside of the crescent) on the north side (xx02-xx20 or so) have decent MK views off to the side.

I'm not sure what 1st floor is like from a noise perspective on odd side given proximity to the pool and such.
