I've searched the thread and the Internet and can't seem to come up with answers to some questions I have. We are renting points at BLT in a 1 bedroom in September. Can anyone tell me what's provided in the kitchen? Such as, plates, utensils? I see from some pics that it has a coffee maker but do I have to bring my own filters? Does the kitchen have dish soap and sponges? Do I have to bring my own laundry detergent? Any advice on what I should bring, that the villa doesn't provide, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, do I get free parking at the resort if I'm just renting points and are we not allowed to see the fireworks from any roof or deck location since we are not DVC owners?

Just a couple more questions (or not):
Is it a far walk to get to the CR monorail stop from BLT? Should I request a certain floor or location? My two year old is starting to refuse to sit in the stroller for any amount of time and it is taking us forever to walk anywhere these days. :)

I am grateful for any information you can give me!

They often ask to see the blue member card to go up to the Top of the World Lounge. They allow members and guests staying with the member. But since you compensated the member for the reservation, you aren't considered a guest of the member.

You'll get a parking pass to put in your window to park at BLT.

The kitchen will have dishes of all kinds, glassware, pots, pans, flatware, spatula, mixing spoon and many other items.

They don't provide fllters (you need the Mr Coffee basket type filter). They don't provide laundry detergent except for a single use box on each service day. No fabric softener. No salt, pepper, sugar, coffee creamer except for a tiny packet that comes with the single pot coffee you get when you arrive (one pouch each service day).

They provide trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dish detergent, dish washer detergent.

We rented last february. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and everything. Bring your own coffee AND filters. You may get a pack of coffee in the filter, but you won't get a refill like you would in hotel room each night.

Ask for the fourth floor. I believe that is the floor with the bridge to the CR. You may or may not get access to the roof. My brother rented before us and both him and I had no problems getting into TOWL or on the observation deck. I've read others didn't so who knows. Expect you won't, and hope you will.

To answer your other question, it is not a far walk to the monorail. At least we don't think it is; YMMV. You need to walk across the skybridge to the CR to get to the monorail stop. The skybridge is on the 5th floor. Last April we had a 5th floor villa and it was very convenient to be on the same floor as bridge. This past Christmas we were on the 3rd floor. While not as convenient as the 5th floor, it was still easy to go up or down a couple flights of stairs if the elevators were busy. Least convenient, although with the best view, was our first stay at BLTwhich was on the 14th floor. Waiting for the elevators to go anywhere got a little old.

No, the sky bridge is on the 5th floor at BLT. It connects to the 4th floor at the CR, which is probably where you got that from.

I wrote a reply earlier but it didn't post. I must've done something wrong. I'm out of practice I guess.
I wanted to thank all of you for your replies. :thumbsup2 This really helps with planning.

So, I will request a room on the 5th floor or some area close to the walkway. Although I know it's just a request and not a guarantee.
I will bring coffee and filters, laundry detergent and fabric softner.
We will use Garden Grocer as we have in the past.
Should I bring beach towels if we plan to use the pools and water parks? I don't remember if they give them to you or not.
Anything else I should bring or know? We didn't rent points and stay in a DVC resort our last two visits and I know things had have changed since then.

There will be towels at the pool, but not at the water park (for free). You can rent towels at the water park or bring your own.
