Blood on the Saddle

Big Al was my favorite as a kid. I still have my stuffed Big Al, albeit stored away in a box. Anyhoo, I never really listened to the words, the way he sang it was just hilarious. Love the wrong notes at the beginning.

I wish they would clean up the sound track though, last time we were there, all the bears sounded awful and you couldn't understand half of them anymore.

Whenever the crowds or the heat started to get to us, DH and I looked at each other and said "and a great big puh-uddle of blood on the ground" and crack ourselves up.
That attraction had to be one of my DH's favorites. Especially that song. I, too, wish they'd fix the soundtrack. Many of the bears were almost impossible to understand (and you really can't read their lips, not even Liver Lips McGraw).

It really depends on the number of guests in the show and where you sit in the theater.

The audio has always been (since its Disneyland premiere) a bit problematic as the individual vocal tracks come from speakers near each bear, but the instrumental accompaniment has come from speakers at a wider dispersion across the stage.

If you are seated in a spot that is closer to the accompaniment speakers than the location of a given bear on the stage, that bear (in particular) will be harder to hear.

We have attended when we were a a part of only a dozen guests in the room.

The audio was better as I moved ("slid" really) from one area to another as the show progressed.

Oh I love this show. Please do not complain and cause Disney to come up with some politically correct versions of "Blood on the Saddle" or "Whoop Little Beauford"!

As a family we break out in these songs during crazy life moments! Those and the "Just Keep Swimming" from Nemo!:cool1:

We recently attended the show with someone who uses the reflective devices for those with hearing losses. It made a huge difference for all of us in understanding all the words.

We used the reflectors during Fantasmic and that was wonderful too!

Thanks for clearing that up for me! Last year I looked back and noticed the lyrics and dialogue scrolling in reverse on an LED board. It was too hard to follow without a mirror, but I did peak back a few times to clear up some lyrics that I wondered about!

A few years ago I saw CBJ for the first time and loved it. Took my sister for her first time a couple of months ago -- really excited about her getting to hear "There was blooooooooood...." and the sound quality of the show was pretty bad. You probably couldn't understand half the words. We were in the middle in the back. The first time I went we were on one side towards the front and the sound was great.

Love love love that song!
