Did this happen to anyone else? I was trying to book at Jambo at 8am and a message came back telling me that I was outside my reservation window because I was trying to book outside of what is a four-month window. This is very concerning to me. Did anyone else get this glitch?

This is my error message:

Please Select Different Dates
This reservation can't be completed because the requested dates are outside of your booking window for this Resort.

Please select a reservation date on or after Nov 4, 2019, or use Vacation Points from another Home Resort contract to book this reservation.
 
This has been reported as happening to those who bought Kidani (even though it's wrong). AFAIK, you'll have to call to resolve it if this is the issue. So sorry. Hope you still end up with the reservation you want.
 
I thought so too, but we own both Kidani and Jambo and the same thing happened when I tried to book it with Jambo points.

Plus, shouldn’t it be a seven-month window in that case?

Yes, now that I reread the message, it makes no sense. It should say you have to wait until Nov 4 or after to make the reservation!

With my tin foil cap firmly attached...does this also mean that a four-month window is already coded into the system for some (so far) unknown reason?

It's probably just plain old, ordinary incompetence. :teeth: (Or that the coding has been outsourced to someone who doesn't really understand how the system is supposed to work coupled with no oversight/testing by those that do, LOL)
 
Nope, I still get the same message. Of course they were closed today and now the room is gone.

Wow! I booked a night in late Sept just a an hour or two ago using our AKV points but it was not a room at AKV and it worked. I have definitely noticed that the booking error messages that come up in the past year or so are rarely about the actual error but at least they've been a possible error and not some imaginary 4 month window. It does make one wonder what they've got up their sleeves. But if there was some legitimate error in the window it might have been something else and just an incorrect message - that I've seen before. I've had it be fussy around the 8am window 7 month window but it's usually cleared up a bit later. I have lost a room over it though.

I was trying to book for June 4, 2010, for four nights. I first tried a June UY and then April.

This is a room and a date that I have booked many, many times, so this is super weird and frustrating.
 
Out of curiosity is this a resale contract? Is it possible that this is a future change that they will implement but has yet to be given a green light?

Probably the whole AKV Jambo/Kidani thing that a programmer has been trying to fix then. And a non-relevant error message. I don't have enough AKV points to test it.
 
Perhaps, but the April UY is Jambo, so that makes it even more weird.

Anyways, thank you all for the commiserations and hopefully I can get it sorted out tomorrow to try again on Saturday.
 
So I’m right in the middle of ROFR for a resale contact at AKV. I didn’t even know some people own and Jambi and some Kidani. If ROFR works out and I get a contract will it state where I own?

Yes it will show which building the interest in the unit you are purchasing is located. The online booking also preselects your home resort(s) for booking and when you own AKV you have to select the other building that you don't own at from the non-home resort list. AKV is all one association and you can book at 11 months at either location but there have been some definite glitches with that since they began the pre-selection and listing of your home resorts. In a previous online booking version it did not do that. ie - they do it wrong for AKV and still haven't fixed it and it has to be at least a year it's been like this.
 
Okay, I have an update. It must be something specific to my account because only half of our other resorts can be booked at 11 months right now either. I'm getting the four-month error message for most, but not all, of our other non-AKL home resorts as well. The seven-month window works for all but AKL. Hopefully, it is something they can easily adjust on their end today, but at least I know it's not specifically the Jambo-Kidani issue.

And I am definitely noting that this means that they can make a change of some sort on their end that can restrict a member, with all or any of their existing memberships, to booking only within a four-month window, regardless of their home resort.

All of our contracts are resale and I firmly believe that this four-month window may not be a random number, though whether they will actually do anything with it now or in the future is unpredictable at best.
