blockbuster vs. netflix

What do you mean that they "throttle" your acccont. Do you mean you think they are holding up delivery on purpose?

Correct. However, that trend seems to have been declining due to customer complaints.

They say UNLIMITED, so UNLIMITED it should be. But I wonder how anybody finds the time. We get around 8 - 10 movies per month. Most of that is Kids stuff that we ship back within 2 days.
 
I used Netflix without a problem until they started holding my movies because I was renting too many.

Now I've discovered Redbox at the supermarket and it's only a dollar a night and it works out great!
 
I got tired of paying an arm and a leg for cable so I got rid of cable and got Netflix. Saved $55 a month and have something new to watch every night. So yeah we do watch a lot of movies. But like the advertising says it's supposed to be "UNLIMITED".

Summerrluvv I've heard good things about that redbox. But I love old and/or foreign films as well as documentaries and old TV shows on dvd. I just haven't found the selection to be wide enough.
 

I use Blockbuster online and like it fine. The only complaints I have is that they don't always send the #1 dvd in my queue first....... I signed up for the 2 at a time plan and lately I have been getting 4 at a time (no complaints on that!)

I think it depends on where you live. I live in a rural area, and have been a Blockbuster subscriber for about 2 years. A few months ago it seemed like it was taking longer to get the movies, so I signed up for the Netflix free trial. As an experiment, I returned movies to Blockbuster and Netflix on the same day. I did this two different times and both times Blockbuster got the next movie to me sooner.

I have had some of the same issues with Blockbuster sending the second movie in my queue, but I found that if I would delete the first movie and then add it again, that I would get that movie next.

Also, on two different occasions, I received an email from Blockbuster saying that they had received a movie that I still had in my possession. They went ahead and sent the next movie in my queue, so then I have 4 movies. No complaints there! :)

The turn around time has improved since I did my Blockbuster/Netflix experiment, so I'm sticking with Blockbuster. ::yes::
 
We have Blockbuster and now with Total Access you can return your online DVDs to the store and it will immediately clear your queue. Then you can pick up a free DVD in the store (return policy applies) and the next movie in your queue will ship. You can still return the DVDs by mail, of course. I think it adds even more flexibility.

With Total Access you are supposed to get just one Ecoupon a month, but my weekly one was in my account along with the monthly one.

I think they are still working out some bugs. ;)

I think the amount of ecoupons has to do with how long you have been a customer and which plan you chose if you were given an option.

We have the two movies/games per month deal. We could have switched to four free movies a month but chose to keep the game option (my son rents games)

I think if you didn't decide on the four week option, or weren't given a choice (newer customers can only get movies no games) you get one ecoupon. Since I was grandfathered in, I still get my two coupons.
 
Another Netflix subsciber. I have been throttled also. For the most part I am satisfied with their service, just not happy about the throttling.

Well with the switchover to Total Access, the four ecoupons are supposed to go down to one Ecoupon a month. We joined after it stopped the game offerings. So those that joined under that plan are supposed to be automatically switched.
