Does anyone else find them to be waaayyyy too expensive? My nephew rented 3 kid's movies (the were not even new releases) and it still cost almost $12. It looks like someone's going to have to eat dinner tomorrow at the Sunday kids-eat-free pizza buffet night. :p Plus, wouldn't you know I made an entire crockpot full of chili and mr. picky wouldn't touch it. Even though he couldn't SEE the onions he knew they were in there? I had to put it all in baggies and freeze it. Arrrgggg.....I'll be glad when his mom picks him up tomorrow night.

I sympathize with you! I agree that Blockbuster is too pricy & that kids are too picky:) I hope tomorrow runs smoother for you.

i don't go there, i go to hollywood video now. our local one rents all videos and dvds for a mere 99c, for 5 nights. the blockbuster is like 3 times that price. i don't know if you have hollywoods in your area, but they're worth checking out. :)

LOL...thanks. Hope the pizza dosen't contain anything green or any chunks of anything.

Last time I was late returning a video, Blockbuster sent me a letter telling me that they had charged my credit card $3.50.

I belong to blockbuster rewards, they send me coupons every month to get a free rental, but they cannot be used on any videos that just came out, not even the "new" releases that have the 5 day rental on them. so what good does the coupon do me? I regret joining the program.

I almost never rent videos. I just did this weekend, and was surprised not only by the cost but the PATHETIC selection! 1/3 the place is video games, 1/3 is videos, not leaving much space for VHS (mostly new releases). can't a girl watch an OLD movie every once in a while? gotta start getting my movies online, i guess.

I love the Blockbuster rewards program, it seems like everytime I go in there, they tell me I have a free video rental and do I want to use it. The last time I went, I got 2 videos and they were free, I had 2 free rentals I hadn't used yet!

I gave up renting videos there because of the wording of the deadlines. At that time, they wouldn't tell you when it was due, just that it was due at noon on the third day. Well, if you rented a movie on Monday night, that was the first day. When I rent movies from the library, Tuesday is counted at the first day. I do not like paying late fees!

Last spring break, I rented a Play Station for the kids for the week. The price wasn't that bad, but the games were high. BUT it took three trips to get a Play Station that worked. They couldn't prove that it worked in the store because there weren't any TVs to hook it up to.

It's kind of a moot point now anyway - we rarely watch movies anymore!

We got to Blockbuster all the time. We belong to the Rewards program also. We can get anything we want free with our free rental..including video games( a 5.99 pricetag).

I would definatley talk to the manager about your problems in the past..because I can't believe the rules change from region to region..but I guess they could!

It used to be 2.49 to rent..but they just upped to 2.99 for new releases..but old movies are still 99 cents and you can keep all but the newest releases for a whole week..( but then I wonder..why..I only watch a movie once..but the kids watch them over and over...I usually give my movie to my parents or friends..and they watch them for free!

I will check out Hollywood's prices here..but their selection used to stink!!!!!!

I go to Hollywood Video, too, although here it is like $2.99 for 5 nights...but all movies are 5 nights. At Blockbuster here, a new release is due back the next day or in two nights, depending on where you go...I don't like that very much!

How can I put this - the cost of the videos is cheap compared to the cost of birth control meds. I will bet that after your nephew leaves tomorrow, you'll never want kids of your own. Every time my sister leaves my house, she vows that she will never have kids. It's worked for her for 6 years now. LOL

Blockbuster is very expensive! I dont go there anymore! I went with my bf one time and he had this moms credit card, they asked him a ton of questions before letting him use it. He has a differnt last name so that caused more problems. It wasnt like we were even trying to get any thing "bad" it was just Beauty and the Beast! :)
Good Luck:D

Don't get me started on Blockbuster! Don't ever be late in returning videos/games, you may as well buy the thing!! For a day and a half??? Their Customer Service sucks!
Ok I guess I did start! :)

Our Blockbuster lets you keep movies and games for 7 days. Don't they all do that?

I like renting the Gamecube and Playstation games from them. It's a nice way to see if the games are any good before investing big time money.

We just bought thier card for the Monsters inc. video. Well worth the price. We usually just get the 7 day videos but today/yesterday Tim got Peter Pan. The boys loved it. Can't wait for Tuesday!

When they had the Lord of the Rings 10 video rental card I had trouble. They kept trying to tell me that the rentals only went from Mon-Sun even though on the back of the card and other info both said Sun-Sun. So I kept insisting it's false advertising if they didnt honor it so I made sure they did. It's much easier being able to rent 2 movies in the same weekend even if it meant going there twice in a weekend. Seems in the summer we were only home every other weekend.

Now that they have the Monsters Inc 10 video rental card the card does specifically say Mon-Sun. However we are home every weekend so a movie each weekend isnt unreasonable.
Of course we wanted both these cards so the cost per video went down to $2.50ish.
And by using the rental card every week the 10wks will be used up just a few days before we cruise.

They are saying now that even once the card is activated we have 2yrs to get our rentals. I thought originally it was 2yrs to activate it once it was bought.

we watch things over and over -- so it's cheaper to simply buy what we want in the first place instead of renting it.

blockbuster is WAY too expensive. When i used to live in Watertown I'd go to a video store on Main Street right by the Middle School and on Tuesdays ALL movie rentals were $1. I wish it was tuesday!!
