BLizzard Beach will be closed next week

We had reservations at BLizzard Beach for next Wed for umbrellas. GOt a call from WDW this AM saying renovations there are running late and it will not be open. CHoice of switching to TYphoon Lagoon or getting a refund. I chose TL but I am traveling with a 3 yr old grandson and chose BB because I thought it seemed to have more attractions geared at young children than TL. CAn anyone who has been to TL with a small child make any suggestions for toddler specific attractions at TL. THanks.

That confuses me, BB was scheduled to be closed Oct 23-Dec 24, so how can they be running late? They should have told you they were starting it early. TL has a kids area which will be fine for a 3 year old, BB has more for the pre-teen kids than TL does, if my memory serves me right.
