Hi,
We are first timers going to WDW next month with our 4 1/2 year old daughter. We would love to do the water parks, but are concerned that the BB & TL might be too big for her. She is comfortable in the water, but would definitely want to do some of the slides with one of us. Do they let you do that? (She is also under 48"). Should we skip 'em or go?

Thanks!

we have been there with a 3 yr old (back in 04) and our 2 yr old (in 07). Both loved it. In 04 dd did some of the slides with us, this yr we did a bunch of the lazy river and wave pool and casual water rides, did not worry so much about the extreme rides. Have to say though BB family ride is much better than TL family ride, the giant innertube, I forget what it is called. Have Fun. And if you go to BB, remember to ride Summit Plummit and be sure to have on a well covering swim suit when you do it. LOL.

Our youngest(who is now 4) was in a swim diaper her first time to BB, and she had a blast. Going to BB and TL are always one of our most magical days at Disney. Plenty to do for all ages and allows for us to slow down the pace of our vacation. As far as slides go, each water park has age appropriate water slides in their tike area. Our favorite ride is the family tube ride where we all get to join in on the fun together.

Both the waterparks are my DD8's favorite things at WDW. Both parks have special areas for the little ones. I think the one at BB is a little better than the one at TL. My DD still likes to go into the smaller tkes area (Tikes Peak) as well as the one for bigger kids. In fact, Tikes Peak is designed for kids 48", and under (parents too)

And, in case you didn't know, you can get a life vest (for free) at both water parks. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

And check out Teamboat Springs. It's a raft ride for the whole family. Really fun! (from allearsnet.com Teamboat Springs is the world's longest family white-water raft ride. Three to six passengers can ride this not-so-tame 1,200-foot flume. )

Go, you'll have great time. :cool1:

Oh, and welcome DisJFam5!

DS was 5 when we went to typhoon lagoon (I had wanted to go there because thats where I had been when I was younger...dont think they had BB back then), plus DS loves pirates and that one is more boat themed. He LOVED the wave pool. DS was not a good swimmer but he had his vest on which floats him and he thought the big waves were the coolest thing (we thought he might be scared of them) but I think we spent most of the time in the wave pool. we also did the tube river and the kiddie area with the water cannons. that may have been one of our best trip days and if we had had more time, we would have gone back.
