Blizzard Beach Refurbishment

I read that this years refurbishment for Blizzard Beach is 10/24/04-12/11/04. Is this the typical time-frame for BB refurbishment. I ask this because in the past we have gone during this timeframe and Blizzard Beach was open. We are planning a trip for 11/05 and would be disappointed if we weren't able to go there next year.

Is Typhoon Lagoon just as good as BB?

TL is a good water park, there isn't that many large slides like at BB but they are getting a new slide. I don't know when it is suppose to open.

I absolutely adore TL!! The lazy river is sooooo relaxing. The wave pool is huge & FUN, and there's enough slides and thrills for everyone. I think it's less the "thrills", but still something for everyone. They even have a shark reef you can snorkel in as well as a surf pool.

This is the same rehab schedule that they had last year. We went in November 03 and had a blast at Typhoon Lagoon while BB was closed. As for next year...that's anyone guess, but I really don't think you can go wrong with either park.

Yeah, last year and this they decided to flip the usual rehabs for TL and BB, I assume in order to allow people who visit at the same time every year to experience the other park. I had also hoped they would move it back to the usual schedule this year.

I think TL is good, but BB is great! The kiddie areas, lazy creeks, and large slides are similar (BB has more large slides, though) but the wonderful thing about BB for slightly older kids (maybe 4 - 10) is the Ski Patrol Training Camp. There isn't an area like this in TL, and for my two (6 & 9 last time they were at BB) the Training Camp area was a huge hit. Also, the family raft ride at TL is much shorter than the great family raft ride at BB. Our family would still plan to visit TL, but we would be much more likely to make a double visit to BB. I will say the shark reef attraction at TL is interesting for kids, though.

They changed the refurbishment around because of the construction at TL.

In my opinion TL is much better than BB.
