Hi
Can someone please give me some information on BB?
I'm a little confused - I know that there are lockers for rent and all but I have read in trip reports that people "stake out a good spot" by the chairs...
does this mean that there are chairs for people to sit on and that you can claim one for the day? and how would you do this - just leave your belongings there?!
Wearing flip flops wouldn't be recommended either, would it? I have been looking for a pair of those water shoes but haven't been able to find ones that I like yet.
And are there a lot of slides that drop you into a large pool? There will be members of our party that don't know how to swim.
Thanks in advance!!

Hi beansprout! People do 'stake out a spot' by leaving their towel and perhaps their sunblock, etc on a chair (or chairs). If you aren't going to use the chairs much, it's just plain polite only to take one as a base to return to if your group splits up. Generally, it's safe to leave non-valuables on your chair but you do want to put valuables in a locker.

Water shoes are a good idea in the water parks as the pavements get hot. They also help if you plan to spend much time in Typhoon Lagoon's wave pool as the bottom is somewhat textured and can be irritating on tender feet after a few hours.

The splashdown area at the end of all the body slides and tube rides isn't extremely deep so if the non-swimmers don't mind possibly going under water for a moment before they stand up there shouldn't be any need to actually swim. If the non-swimmers are youngsters, Blizzard Beach loans free buoyant vests and they offer double tubes so the youngster can ride with a swimming adult.

My son and I brought our flip-flops with us to BB, but never used them. The ground never got that hot (early July) , as BB has several areas where there is a continual water spray on the pavement and the "drippings" from the clientele usually keep the pavement cool to the touch. Barefoot is do-able.

There are an abundance of chairs and chaisse lounges, but not all of them are in the shade. We just did the locker thing ($7 for a small) and sat down when we wanted to. Mind you, we weren't there to relax and sunbathe. We were there to have fun and do the slides, etc.

This is very european with early morning battles between the brits and the germans taking place all across spain etc. This is almost considered a sport
