Can you use a magic band to pay for lockers, merchandise at stores, and quick services and food carts? And do you need water shoes or flip flops to walk around the park in between rides? With it being Florida in the summer, didn’t know how hot the ground would get in the slide and pool areas.

You can pay for all your food and merchandise using magicband. In fact, just about everywhere in WDW accepts magicband for purchases. My wife and DD's used water shoes for waterpark. You can get by without them, but you will run into areas where the ground is scorching.

From the website...
Renting a Locker
It’s easy to rent a locker while at the parks! If paying with cash (U.S. currency) or a major credit card, you may proceed directly to the self-service kiosk to rent a locker. If paying with a MagicBand or gift card, please visit the merchandise location nearest to the lockers for assistance. There, a Cast Member can process your rental transaction and give you a code to input into the self-service kiosk—providing you access to a locker.

Thank you for the very helpful information! I was thinking the ground would get pretty brutal but wasn’t sure if water shoes are allowed on all the slides.

The ground does get brutally hot and it is hard on bare feet to walk on concrete all day. However, there are light misters/sprinklers spraying water on the sidewalks all over the park! I did not know this and the first one sprayed on my leg and it startled me. But after I realized what they were, the water sprayed on the sidewalks definitely made it easier to walk around barefoot. They ended up being a very pleasant surprise!

I could see how this would be startling! What a clever way to save our feet.
We went to H2O Glow in 2019 and it was magical. Even though the pavement wasn’t hot, walking on all of that concrete was brutal on our bare feet, so I got us water shoes with some padding for BB.

To piggyback on this poster's question, anyone have experience renting the polar patio? Is the water in the mini fridge included, or are you paying for it (like a minibar)? Did I read correctly, that you press a button, and a server comes to take your food orders?

They give you a number to text the attendant, it’s not a button.

There is not a fridge. The patio we had a couple of weeks ago had a cooler with ice/bottles of water - they are free. I think for some patios they put out a water dispenser thing, or at least they had changed to those back in March (now that I think about it I’m not sure I saw any of those two weeks ago, but I wasn’t specifically looking either).

Hope that helps, happy to answer any questions.

We went to BB in mid-June and found there were ground sprinklers just about everywhere. We didn't find that we needed water shoes or flip flops in between rides.
I’m happy to hear that! If I don’t need to go buy water shoes that we would probably just use this one time, I rather not. I’m glad they put those sprinklers out to try to save everyone’s feet!!!
