I know it will be busy in summer, but if your only options to go were Friday or Saturday morning, which would be best?

Do you have to carry your mat up to the top of Tobaggan Racers? How long of a walk is it?

How busy will Cross Country Creek be later in the morning/afternoon?

If the chairlift has too long of a wait, would DD be able to take the gondola (that many stairs in the heat will be iffy for her for a few reasons). If we take the gondola can our entire party go up it, or just the one requiring the assistance?

Friday morning, for sure. Local families are more likely to go on Saturday, when a lot of their parents are off from work for the weekend. I'm unfamiliar with the names of the rides. is Cross Country Creek the lazy riv er? Then yeah, that is a mad house in the afternoon. It's very hard to find a tube to float in. My family often gets spread out all over it. I actually don't remember if I had to bring my mat or not. I THINK so? I'm pretty sure I carried it. It's very light though.

Hm... if we were to go on a Thursday morning, park opens at 9, but we didn't arrive until 10 or 11, would we basically be "too late"... as in, would there already be long lines? The only "big" rides we want to do are the Tobaggan racers and the family raft rides and the lazy river. The rest will just be the pool areas.

I think you would be fine Thursday or Friday. The ski lift is open for everyone to enjoy a lift to the top of the mountain. The lazy river will be crowded but not un-doable. Keep in mind the Florida discounts for water parks are for 2 pm to close so unless they are paying full price you could be ok on Saturday.

I've been to BB 5 or 6 times and I don't think any of those are "big" rides. The chairlift will get very long lines, however. Toboggan Racers - you get your mat right at the top so no carrying. Same with Teamboat Springs (family raft ride). I don't know what the gondola is. Something special for people with disabilities? For the lazy river, just wait at an entrance for a tube. Shouldn't be longer than 10 minutes.

The chair lift (gondola) seats 3 people. Anyone can ride it, not just the disabled. Lines will get long as crowds build, but it does have a single rider line.

The parks busyness is the same as the theme parks. It takes about an hour to 90 minutes for enough people to arrive for the lines to fill. Getting there early will allow you to do more. The rides that hold more people, like team boat springs and the toboggan racers, take longer to get backed up. The lazy river is huge and will take some time to build a crowd. Most people ride slides until tired of climbing stairs or the lines get long, then head to lazy river or the bobbing wave pool.

If you can't get there at opening, another strategy is to go later. As the park begins to empty out, ride the anytime attractions. Save the slides for the last 90 minutes.

Later - like after supper - is a great strategy. 6-8:00 pm most of the rides are walk-on affairs at both water parks, especially right after an afternoon T-storm.
