Just wondering if I can get some feedback on these two parks. I don't know if I will do both on our next trip. A friend suggested TL for my DD who will be six then. She is just learning to swim. From what I read TL has a smaller kiddie area where as BB has more in the kiddie section with the wave pool being more calmer than TL. I read mixed reviews, but if anyone wants to share or has been there lately I appreciate it.:)

TL has a good kiddy area, and also a fairly shallow lazy river where you can put your kid in the rubber ring, and it will float round by itself. don't bother with the wave pool, the waves are huge, and i don't think from what you've described, that's what you're looking for.

hope this helps

I guess I cannot do a comparison for you as I have never experienced Blizzard Beach.

We were at WDW last month though and we LOVED Typhoon Lagoon.
Swimming with the sharks was so cool! My boys even returned the following day to use the air tanks to stay and observe longer-- this costs $20 per person.
I just thought TL was great!!
Wave pool, lazy river, it was all fun.

Hope this helps,

Debi

I went to both on my trip last year and have decided to only return to Typhoon Lagoon this year. For me Blizzard Beach was a little scary I went on the Slush Gusher and that totally put me off, I almost drowned. For me the slides there weren't 'fun' and I'm an adult. Obviously I don't have experience of the kids area, I'm not a parent and the youngest in our party was my sister of 13. It did look pretty good however I think I've remember hearing people saying in that past that they would walk their child to one of the slides, the child would go down but there wouldn't be an easy way for the parent to get to the end of the slide quickly. So the child would be left unattended.

Typhoon Lagoon however I thought was brilliant, much more family friendly in my opinion. Absolutely loved the family raft rides, which I thought were pretty gentle, Castaway Creek was excellent - never too crowded and not too deep, even Crush'n'Gusher wasn't too bad and more than one can go together at one time so you can always keep watch. I will however agree the wave pool is a no, no - too forceful. I did again walk past the kids area and it looked really sweet, I'm sure your DD would enjoy it and because the other slides and the Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon are relatively laid back she'd probably love a couple of the more relaxed ones too.

We just did BB and Aquatica two week's ago and TL last year. Our favorite is TL. I felt like it had the most for our family of five (children ages 10, 7, and 2). It has the best "feel" with plenty of shade.

If your daughter is adventurous, than Tikes Peak in BB is a lot of fun. My boys loved crossing the iceburgs and the Zipline was a lot of fun. One word of warning, let go of the zipline before you hit the end. My boys didn't and were flipped backwards (complete back somersault into the water). Incredible to watch but it would probably seriously hurt an adult that's why it's for the young ones.

If your daughter is 6, I would have to say Aquatica probably has the most to offer her. I wasn't impressed with the adult ride selection but the two children's areas were incredible. Plus, the wave pool is much calmer than TL.

All of the parks are fun! Enjoy!

Last year we did TL & BB. My DD 6 at the time prefered BB hands down. The kids area is better & the family raft ride is so much better at BB.

TL children area is very babyish! For ages: baby to timid 3 year old. I agree the tween area at BB is the best. My sons could do the icebergs all day long.
There is also a separate baby area at BB similar to TL. We are not going back to TL until my sons can handle the big waves and swim on their own in the shark reef.(very cold)

We don't care for TL :sad2:. We like the slides and atmosphere better at BB......the family raft ride is awesome :cool1:. The kids section at BB is better, too, IMO.

We have done both, BB couple of years ago and TL this year. Kids say they liked BB better. But I think it does depend on the child, mine our more thrill seekers, looking more for zip lines and slides rather than lazy rivers. They were seven years old at Blizzard Beach and seemed like there was more to do, we were busy all day. At TL seemed like we were looking for something to do even though they are taller and able to all of the rides now.

When are you going? Often during winter in Jan/Feb they close one for Refurbishment. You may not have a choice. I think that TL is scheduled for refurb. this winter.

Both are great water parks, at six though you know they will both be fun.

But I agree that Aquatica is more kids friendly than the others. However the adult rides could be better. The only down side is the some of the rides are really slow just a few, so they could have planned better.

But kids and animals are fun, so consider is as an option.
