Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

We have never done the water parks, but we are going to in April. Which do you prefer, Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon and why?

depends on the ages of your girls. Mine are now 13, 7, 7, and 3. Mine prefer BB over TL. The three youngest hated TL because they're scared of the wave pool. They were fine until the two middle ones got knocked down by adults, who got knocked down by the waves. One of them got pretty scraped up from the rough bottom. I've also been informed that the kid's area at TL is "for babies". They much prefer the kid's area at BB (Ski Patrol). It's much bigger, has more slides/rides for them, plus the lazy river and family raft ride are longer. There's another area at BB geared for toddlers/younger preschoolers called Tike's Peak. I haven't spent any time there since my youngest would rather be with the older kids, or watch if she's not big enough to join in.

My DS's are 10 & 8 and love TL. They love the wave pool. We have been to BB and it's nice but the preference is TL.

Most in our family prefer BB because we think, in general, that the slides are better there. I think the kiddie area is better as well - lots of variety and not difficult to keep an eye on the young ones.

My oldest, however, loves TL. He's the wave pool freak in the family so there you go. :teeth:

I haven't been to BB but have been to TL twice and love it. Being from MN, I try to avoid wintery attractions and much prefer the tropical themed TL. I really enjoy the wave pool (hold onto your swimsuits!), lazy river, and shark reef while DD(2) enjoys splashing around and squirting other people at Ketchakiddee Creek. My only advice with the wave pool is to try and keep the people in front of you at a minimum otherwise they'll soon be on top of you! There's nothing like the view of the person in front of you getting launched upward and then back down toward you with their mouth wide open and arms spread out!!!

If you want bigger water slides, BB. (The only one at TL that is better is Crush n Gusher). If you want smaller, less slides but a beautiful, relaxing park, TL.
Side note - I agree about the wave pool at TL. My kids are 8 and 10 and I thought it was really dangerous. They are strong swimmers but all it takes is getting knocked in the head by someone's elbow or something and you could be in serious trouble in that pool! The wave pool at BB is calmer.

Basically just echoing the people above... I like TL better because it's a bit more relaxing and I love the wave pool.. but BB would be better for people who love lots of slides and/or people with small children.. better play area and a bit less of an extreme wave pool. :thumbsup2

We have two girls. DD9 is a thrill seekers and DD5 is pretty much on the cautious side. When we took our oldest to WDW the first time, she was 5 yo and went on every ride possible. I honestly can't see this one doing that. That is ok, I can stay with the little one and DH can take the older one on the thrill rides.

I agree with allnamestaken. BB sounds like your best bet. I'd suggest when you get a locker, you ask for one in the Ski Patrol Area. That's probably the area your girls will spend the most time playing together.

I prefer TL due to the lush landscaping and abundant shade. I also appreciate the genuine deep end (7 feet+) in the wave pool.

I really enjoyed TL each time I went, but after BB opened my family never went back to TL. BB has great slides and tube rides. The family tube ride is reallly fun and they have slides set up where you can race each other. BB is tons of fun and that is where I would go, but if you end up at TL you'll love it too!

Our family likes TL the best. I think our youngest was 6 when we took her there the first time. They all love the wave pool!

I see that you will be at WDW the same time as us, we arrive on the 25th! :)

Yes, we will. We arrive on the 22nd. I have not changed the ticker since I booked the airfare. We are staying offsite this time. I hope I am not disappointed.

Who knows maybe we will do both?
