Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon for Teenagers?

Based on recent reports that Typhoon Lagoon may open up in March, I wondered if this group had a recommendation on which water park a group of teenagers (mostly boys aged 14, 12, 12, 12 and 9) would enjoy most! I had previously just assumed we'd go to Blizzard Beach, but now I'm thinking we may have a choice! Thanks for the help!

TL is the better park, IMO. Summit Plummet is probably appealing to them though! The wave pool at TL is awesome!

I hadn’t heard that about TL opening in March- did you read that somewhere?

A reopening date has not been announced. At this time, any date prior to May 20, 2023 (first H2O) party is speculation.

I've heard the word "spring" tossed around a bit so if March - I think much more likely towards end of March and even then there's no guarantee that Blizzard won't close when Typhoon opens. I'd be surprised if Disney keeps two water parks open at the same time in March.

It'll be interesting to see what they do this year. Pre-Covid, they 2 parks would be open spring, summer, and into the fall. Hope the time has come to have them both open again. That being said, it's absolutely a place requiring very specialized and extra trained cast members as life guards - it'll probably depend on having enough coverage for both parks. 2 water parks during the hot weather certainly pulls some of the traffic away from the theme parks.

OP - both parks are fun. I seem to be opposite here, but our boys, when teenagers, preferred BB - they especially loved the 'racing' type attractions they could do together at BB. Liked the toboggan racing, especially.

Thanks! If both are open in early May, I’ll be torn, so it might come down to which one has the better raft rides...assuming the slides are about equal

I mean, Spring Break is a thing in early/mid March and beyond, so if there was a time to start opening both, it would be then. As of right now, the last day that has posted hours for either Water Park is March 11th, nothing for March 12th and beyond, that's only 18 days from now - that can't be a coincidence. I mean... it can be, but I would suggest that if both were to open, it might begin that weekend.

For me - It's Typhoon - that's my park. But you should know, I spend pretty much all my time in the lazy river, and I prefer TL's much more, as I don't get sprayed by "arctic" water in that one lol

I’d do a lazy river, but only once probably, lol. .,maybe twice if I need a break from the fast slides, lol. I really enjoy the action (but I won’t do insanely high slides, lol)
