Blizzard Beach on Christmas Day

We will be at WDW for Christmas this year. I know that the parks will be crazy busy, but was wondering about the water parks. If the weather is warm enough, we were thinking of spending Christmas at Blizzard Beach and then hitting one of the parks after dinner. Can anyone tell me what Blizzard Beach will be like on Christmas day?

One of the two water parks is closed that time of year. Some days it is so cold that both water parks are closed.

Weather can be all over the place in winter, so the crowds can also be quite variable. If you happen to get a very nice day, the water parks won't be empty. They shouldn't be too bad Christmas Day though. We didn't go Xmas day, but we went that same week on a VERY nice day. It was busy, but not too bad.

Specifically on Christmas day, I expect many folks don't want to risk missing their ADR's. Since there's a risk MK will fill to capacity; I'd bet many folks arrive at MK fairly early and don't leave. Probably Epcot as well. (though the capacity risk is lower.)

Just be prepared that your plan might not pan out if the weather doesn't cooperate.

[this fall/winter BB is closed 10/23-12/24. TL closed 12/25- to 3/11. You are correct, Xmas day BB will be open.]

I haven't been to BB on Christmas Day but we were in WDW from Dec. 25 - Dec. 30 last year. The weather was unseasonably warm. Warm enough to go to a water park, but it was an absolute rarity. If you can be flexible with your plan and the weather is good, I would do it! I would go at rope drop as that is when the lines for the slides are shortest. As for parks in the evening, we were in EP on Christmas evening last year and on some other evenings during the trip. EP was fine if you would consider going there. I would just recommend touring FW in the evening as WS got very crowded with people lining up and trying to get into CP. We were also in DHS on Dec. 26 and the crowds were definitely doable!

The last time we went close to Christmas, it was 85 degrees the day we left. I know it can be warm in December. We would wait until the last minute to add on the water parks and more option. I'm just trying to think of something a little different for Christmas day because I don't really want to deal with the large crowds during the afternoon. We are staying at the Boardwalk so Epcot would most likely be the park we tour in the evening. If the weather ends up being cold, we will just skip the water park and head to Epcot earlier. We have been to WDW many times so we don't feel like we have to get it all in on this trip. We know we will be back.

We won't make our final decision until we know what the weather will be like. I knew only one water park would be open at a time and was happy to see that it would be BB for Christmas day. We prefer that one over TL. My main reason for this post was to see how crowded it could possibly be. I would imagine that most people would want to be in the parks for Christmas. I could be wrong. We just went to Aquatica a couple of weeks ago and it was SO crowded. I don't want to go to Disney's water parks over Christmas break if they will be the same way.
