Blizzard Beach crowds?

My family and I will be at WDW for a couple of days 4th of July week. Mostly to check out the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Blizzard Beach. I was wondering how bad the crowds would be on a Wednesday or Thursday that week. Has anyone been? How have they been recently? Any tips?

If the weather is nice, it will be wall to wall by later in the AM. We were there a about two weeks ago and because the weather was iffy (read "rainy/cloudy") most of the time, the crowds were not impossible. We got there when the park opened, found our spot and settled in. As the morning wore on, it got more crowded. The bobbing wave pool was crowded all the time. The lines at the slides were long. There were not enough tubes for the lazy river. We staye until about 2 or 3PM.

whatever day of the week you go, get there before opening.

we always visit WDW in July. At BB (and TL) we get there before opening, make a beeline for our favorite slides, run up the stairs and down the slides like nutcases until the lines start to build up, then head over to the lazy river for about a half hour (when it too, becomes packed from wall to wall).

That gets us to about 11 AM, when we buy a snow cone (to the right of the chair lift), and then we're out of there......we do not like crowds....and crowds are what you get in the summer at BB and TL.....

I will suggest you get there very early especially that week... IF the weather is nice it will be a mob house.......Try to do everything early........LOL..........My son works in recreation... and they are getting ready.

All of which is why we never go to BB (or Typhoon Lagoon) any more. Simply too crowded to enjoy ourselves.
Do heed the "get there early" advice and run like hell when the ropes drop to find what few spots there are with shade. And watch out in those lazy river areas. They almost always run out of inner tubes, and so folks often just get in anyway and walk (and splash) their way around. Nothing relaxing about it at all!!

Do you have children going with you? If so what are the ages? We have a todler and an 11 year old and our strategy is different when we have both there together vs just one or the other. Will you need a shaded area or do you want to be in direct sunlight? Often local church groups and even some summer camps will go to BB or TL during the week.

With all this good news my wife and I have decided to spend the day at Sea World. We're still staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and will be back in December for a week for the parks. The original thought was to do something we normally miss out on during our park visits. BB sounds like a headache! We did Sea World this same week last year. Had great weather and an awesome time. Any WDW resort restaurant recommendations for me, my wife and two kids?
