He never gets sick. I mean, maybe once in the last 2 years. I got a call from school--throwing up. He looks like he feels just wretched. Absolutely green, his lips are so pale. I brought him home, but not without one more trip to the trash can. He's thrown up another 2 times since he got home.I've already changed his clothes three times and his bed twice. He has twin beds in his room--he's going from bed to bed.Hope I don't run out of clean sheets! Poor baby, all he wants to do is lay down and sleep. And that's what i'm letting him do. In an hour or so I'll see if he can drink a little something. But not until he's emptied his stomach, which should be any time now. I just feel so bad for him--he doesn't understand. All he wants is a hug, but he smells so bad even though I've cleaned him thoroughly. I just hope DH & I don't get it.

Oh yikes! The stomach flu is going around. My roommate had it this weekend. Wash your hands and use bleach when needed and you should be good.

How miserable for him, and for you. Hopefully it's the 24 hour kind!

That's happened to me, I hope it only lasts 1 day. I got it from brother, but his lasted a couple of days. My mom was constantly cleaning up after him and there's not much you can do but let it run its course.

I'm hoping he's done. Christian has thrown up 7 times since 3pm and has had 2 sips of ginger ale(both of which he threw up!) he's on his last chance now--one more throw up and we're going to the ER. I'm getting a little worried, not panicked or anything. I'm a peds nurse so I know what to do, but I just feel helpless to fix this for him. And on top of all that, he's too sick to take his evening seizure meds(12 pills!) so he'll probably have a seizure later tonight :guilty: On a positive note, DH did get him into the shower to get the vomit out of his hair. He smells much better now.

I had a simlar experance two weeks ago, threw up 20 or so times, was miserable and ended up in the er. An Iv and some drugs latter and I was good to go. Hope christian feels better soon!

Well, he seems to be better today. no vomiting overnight, slept all night. I went to work and left him home with DH. DH says he's clingy, but he's at least growling and vocalizing. Hopefully, it's over and he can go back to school tomorrow. I think he must have picked up something on their field trip Monday. They went to the mall and ate at the food court. He puts his hands in his mouth and puts his mouth on everything, so he probably picked up a "bug" off the table. Anyway, other than mild dehydration he seems okay. I think we'll do some ginger ale, popsicles, and applesauce today.

Oops! Spoke too soon. Vomiting again tonight, twice in the last hour. :confused3 I think he's going to go to the doctor in the morning. He is just miserable, laying up in his bed not moving, not making any noise, pushing me away. He just doesn't want to be touched. :guilty: I'm actually starting to get a little concerned, and i don't scare easily. If he vomits again tonight I'm going to run him in to Urgent Care and see if we can't get some anti-nausea drugs in him. He's already mildly dehydrated, don't want that to get worse.

wow, sounds like a tough bug. I hate that feeling of almost feeling better to feel even worse just a little while later.

and he's probably got a better immune system than most kids.

My prayers are you all, Minkydog. I'm sorry he is sooo sick. It must be terrible. :(

Poor Christian. Poor you. You have my sympathy and good wishes. It must be hard keeping up with him and keeping him comfortable. You are an excellent mother and you will get him through this. I trust your judgement on the urgent care call. Hang in there.

He does! He's much healthier than my other two were. Of course, he had the "privilege" of rolling around on my nasty 30yo carpet for 5 years until he learned to walk. No telling what was in that carpet but it must have inoculated him well.

Oh Minky, I'm so sorry Christian is sick, my heart goes out to him, you and DH . Know how worrisome it must be, on top of not having his meds, and send big hugs for a speedy recovery. Two weeks ago a nasty bug went through half my grands, it was terrible :guilty:. Poor babies had horrible vomiting the first 24 hrs, thankfully by next day were able to keep few spoonfuls of gatorade down and by later that pm a little brat diet. Thankfully within 48 hrs they had bounced back. Sending prayers Christian's feeling better this morn.
