Don't really want to sit on the ground. Does anyone have any ideas on a blanket to fit two people that can fold up small enough to fit in a womens purse (VB crossbody)??

TIA

not sure about a blanket, but they sell parade cushions in the park for about $12.00. they're not small enough to fit in a purse, but they're super light weight, so they're easy to carry around.

When I went 1-31-17 to the parade, CM's made everyone except the very front row STAND.
If you aren't staking out a curb spot WAY EARLY for the parade you might not need anything.
However, you know how things change.... Nice to be prepared though.

Wouldn't a blanket sort of infringe upon the space around you?? The people next to you crowding in??

I bought several of these a few years ago. They're made by ThermaRest so they're great quality, and they fold down so tiny you can fit them inside a sandwich bag. Amazon says they're currently unavailable but you can probably find something similar. It just takes about three puffs of air to inflate, and it's super comfy. It insulates your bottom from both the hardness of the ground, and the coldness of it!

I just bought some Mickey microfleece at the craft store and cut it 5 butts long, 1 butt wide ;) Actually, we just folded it half so it was one butt wide. It doubled as a blanket when the kids decided they'd rather cover with it than sit on it. Microfleece is great because you can cut it to size without needing to finish the edges, but it could be a bit bulky for a purse (it fit in our baggallini messenger bag though).

I like your idea! I suppose you could even cut squares 2'x2' or so, so everyone could have their own ground cover in case you aren't in a line. They would still stack and fold pretty small. Last time we used a twin flat sheet, which was okay, too. We just folded it in half.
