Blanchard Park

I am not sure if this is the place to put this but I am hoping for a quick response. My daughter may be offered at job at Blanchard Park which is in eastern Orlando, On the map it looks like it is close to Winter Park. She will be down there by herself and i am just concerned about the area and her safety. It is a county job and will involve a couple of nights where she will be closing the park. If any one could PM me or respond and put a worried mom's mind at ease, I would greatly appreciate it.
Also if anyone is familiar with the area, could you recommend apartments or housing that is affordable, or atleast the area to look at. Thank you very much.
