Blackout Dates (room only code)

I know with package offers (stay/play, free dining, etc) if you arrive on a valid date, you get the discount for your entire stay regardless of blackout dates after arrival.

Does the same hold true for room-only discounts (specifically room-only bounceback offers). We booked while we were in FL, but we're looking at changing weeks. I know that the arrival day FOR SURE was included in the valid dates, but the remaining 6 days after were blacked out.

No, my understanding is that room-only discounts only apply to the exact days listed. So if your arrival day is within the discounted period but your other days are not, you would pay the discounted rate for that day ONLY and rack rate for the remaining days. I'm pretty sure. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Though it couldn't hurt to call and ask. Maybe they could throw a little pixie dust your way and apply the discount to your whole stay. ;)
 
I priced a "Spring Room Only" special today and the discount did not apply to the blackout days (Memorial Day weekend).
 
I go down to WDW several times a year and usually use an AP discount. More than once, I've either had to pay rack rate or else find another discount to cover certain days that were not included in the AP discounts. I've also booked bounceback room only deals and had to find another discount to cover a day or so not covered under the bounceback deals. In fact, my recent Nov 26th-Dec 4th was one of those. I had to book it as a split stay at the same resort in order to get the discounts to cover all the days (first night was an AP discount and the next seven nights were under a bounceback deal). I couldn't get the bounceback nor the AP discounts to cover all the dates. They let me stay in the same room, but I had to check back in the next morning under the bounceback deal. Funny thing is the discount was exactly the same (35% for the first night AP discount room and 35% the next seven nights for the bounce back deal).:rotfl: I just couldn't get either of the deals to cover every one of my dates for either that week or the week after.:rotfl:

The only time blackout dates are covered are under the free dining discount. As long as you check in on the first day of free dining you will get it for your entire stay. Any other discount each day stands on it's own and must be covered under the offered discount. I had an AP room only discount a couple of years ago that covered all but my last night. That one night was rack rate.

This past Nov/Dec I booked three bounceback rooms for next year. For two of those I had to change my dates because the CM said certain days in my preferred time frame were blacked out and I'd be paying rack rate for those nights. In order to get all my dates included, I had to move my late August trip back to the first week on Sept and my mid Oct dates back to Oct 27th-Nov 3rd. The same thing happened for my recent Nov 26th-Dec 4th trip when I booked it last year. I really wanted it a week later, but then the last few days would have been blacked out and the CM said I would have had to pay rack rate for those last few nights. So I had to move it back a week, however, the bounceback dates for that week did not start until Sunday, so I still had to find a discount to cover that first day. There was no way I could get the full 8 nights for either the week after or the week before, so I chose the week that covered all but one of my nights and booked it, then added the other night under a different discount, having to book the trip as two separate stays at the same resort.
