Blackout dates for free dining?

I've only ever gone when either there was free dining or there wasn't - I've never had an opportunity when it could be split. So, if we were to book when the free dining plan is on, and our time extends into a blackout date, is the dining plan free the whole time, or does it cost for the days during the blackout?

(i.e., blackout is 1/5-1/9 for the marathon, we were thinking of staying the 2nd through the 9th)

as long as you check in before the free dining ends it will be good for your whole trip.

As long as the first day of your stay is during the valid dates of the promotion then you will get the promotion for the entire duration of your stay. This is how we got free dining over Christmas in 2009; we arrived on the last day of the free dining promotion. For the situation you listed, yes you'll get free dining for your whole stay, subject to availability of course.

It's your check-in date that counts, and only that date. If you check in while the promotion is valid, you can get the promotion for your entire stay up to 14 nights.
