Blackout curtains?

We had the Eclipse ones from Walmart at our old house, they worked great! I want to get some for our bedrooms because my son gets up early with the light shining through the blinds, which in turn wakes us up too! Along with blocking light, they were great for blocking my drafty old windows (I lived in a 100 year old house).

I would get a room blackening accordian type of blinds. Try Home Depot or Lowe's for them.
