Black Friday

Thinking about going to the US for this shopping day. Is there anything such as drug stores and restaurants open on Thanksgiving? Gas stations? Any stores at all?

Things are open more and more on Thanksgiving. Lots of places will be open, but with limited hours. Gas stations are always open. Some department stores will be open in the evening on Thanksgiving to get a jump start on sales. Some restaurants are open and some are open for carry-out only.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving ~ everything will be open. Have fun!

I think it depends on where in the states you are coming, some states have blue laws and less places are open, you can always find a gas station , and probably a restaurant or two.

It would be to Bangor, Maine.

There will be almost NOTHING open in Bangor, save for the Kmart. You will find open gas stations and MAYBE a place to eat - but everything else will be shut down! It's like a ghost town on Thanksgiving. Now, Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving is a different story - that's when everybody and their mother will be in Bangor at 5am - including ME!
