Hi everyone- I'm hoping the experienced Black Friday Walmart Shoppers can help me. I want to get my son the power wheels jeep and a game boy from Walmart. It will only be me cause my Dh has to work till 6a and then he's planning on coming to meet me. I figure if I wait, I'll miss both items. So since I'll be by myself, should I run to electronics first- I figure I'll need to pay there in electronics which will probably take a while or should I run to toys- and I guess I'll need a flat bed cart- wonder where they'll be- and load it myself? :earseek: Or do they have slips that you take to the register and pay, then pick-up?

What do you think I should do?
Thanks- Donna

It's amazing what we'll do for our kids, isn't it?

I'm in the same boat, except that I need two jeeps - one for each of my twins. I don't know if I'll be allowed to get two. Does anyone know?

To try to answer your question, usually the game boys are about the first items to run out. I've never noticed any motorized vehicles, but sometimes good toy values are gone quickly as well. I'll probably go for the jeep first, because of the difference in full versus sale price. I'm hoping the Game Boys will be available online. You could also arrive a little early to see how many jeeps are available. If there are a lot, then get in the Game Boy line.

HTH.

I forgot one question. One year, they gave out slips for large items, but last year we loaded the TVs in our carts.

So the Jeep motorized vehicle is definatley for a boy? I thought I saw it in the black friday ad, but I don't remember it specifiying whether it was for a boy or girl? Plus, do we know if it is for one or two kids???

I don't know why a girl couldn't get one of the jeeps. I can't remember if it's a one or two seater, but I have to get two of everything ( my children don't share well).

usually has "most" of the black friday ad items in the middle aisle circling the store. The beginning at front doors around to the other set of doors. One big circle. Big ticket items such as the computers and TV's were in the back part of the circle so that they were closer to the registers. There are always several employees by these items to help you load them into the cart or a stocking float to take to the register and to your car. I am not sure about limits but I do know that in past years I have seen people put 3-4 tv's and DVD players in layaway. Though this makes sale items easy to spot without having to worry if you have picked up the wrong one, if you are not there at opening time, the layaway line is SOOOO long it is also circling the store. You can't even walk about and hour into it.

I, too, would like a few items I have seen in the ad and am HOPING we can get them online. A friend and I go every year together though so if not I will still be able to pick them up. It can be a mad house! HTH

Last year, our Walmart had the personal DVD players, digital cameras, and Game Boys in the Electronics department. The toys were in a line in the aisle in front of the toy department. The large items, DVD/VCRs, TVs, etc were in one of the middle aisles. The cooking items, like food processors and electric knives, and the vacuum cleaners were in the main aisle by groceries.

If the Jeep that is on sale is the one that Walmart has on their web site it is pictured as a two seater. I have twins as well and at this price we can actually get two! Grandma is buying! :earboy2:

I agree. It seems like they have to share so many things, especially our attention, that anytime I can afford to buy two of something - I do it!

I loved the quote under your name about the kids destroying your house. I truly know how that feels! One week it was a gallon of red paint on the living room carpet the next it was red fingernail polish all over the bathroom cabinets and floors. What two 2yr olds can figure out just amazes me!

Definitely. My twins are two as well, but lately the five year old has been causing a bit of trouble. He kicked one of the boards on our deck railing last night and broke it in half. He also broke another one of my vases two days ago. One of the twins broke a vase last week. I really shouldn't keep anything breakable anywhere in the house.

How about this?? I want the Philips MP3 player and noticed yesterday that there was only one in the case.... and it hit me... couldn't I put it on lay-a-way and then on B. Friday come and take it off layway and get it for the cheaper price?! If it works, I would do that with the big Jeep and that way you can already have it "back there" with your name on it in the big room!

Let me know if my idea is totally stupid or if definitely will work so I can try it (or not)!

I was going to suggest this. I have done this in the past with no problem :goodvibes

Won't Walmart give you a price adjustment within 2 weeks of a puchase if the price goes down? Couldn't you theoretically buy the item 2 weeks early and then just go in with your receipt and get an adjustment? :confused3 Or are there different "rules" for black friday sales?

There is one problem with that. Some of the items for the Friday sale have different barcodes than the regular items. The are brought in for the sale only. Our store has never given out slips for larger items and usually has the motorized vehicles in the garden center. They don't have them in the regular store. They have the game boys in electronics and I think have to be checked out there. The motorized vehicles are paid for in the garden center.HIH April

Most stores put their specials all over the store (so that the whole store gets "hit" not just Toys/Electronics) Last year the power wheels were up by the books and back by Cereal, Game Boys were done through Tire Lube etc. (Our store gives a map to list where everything is)

I havent seen the specs for this years power wheels yet but the last 3 years its been a 6 volt 1 seater (If you see the F-150 we currently sell its about 80% of that size (smaller) The last few years our Special Power Wheels lasted pretty much all day

MOST Special items are NOT the same items that you see everyday- They either are a new item or include a "bonus" which gives it a new UPC which means its a NEW item. MOST stores will NOT match the price an everyday item with its Special version (nor are they supposed to- The ad clearly states they are special buys=1 time only not everyday prices)

I don't know if the internet question was ever answered............so can we order "doorbuster specials" on-line that Friday morning, or are those specials just in-store specials only. I have to work this Black Friday :guilty: so I won't get to shop early in the morning like I always do...........That $99 Jeep would be a perfect present for my 2 year old!!
