Ours had an ad on tv that said 4 AM!!! That is the earliest I have seen for any store. I don't know if I can get up that early. 5 yes but 4 seems ungodly to me.
The outlet mall nearest us is opening at Midnight. I'm not into the whole black friday thing, but my aunt wants to go, so my mom and I are going with her. But I'd rather stay up till 3 am shopping than get up at 3 am to start shopping. Ick.
In the past, JCPenney's would give away free small Disney snow globes at opening time. Does anyone know if they are still doing that this year? I hope so!
I went out at 3:00am last Black Friday for the first time in my life. I was so amazed at how many people are actually out - seemed like the middle of the day instead of the middle of the night.
Walmart is packed - especially those open 24 hours - they block off the aisles and put the Black Friday stuff there and you can't get to it until 6:00am or whenever they say their sales start - at 6:00am it was a madhouse, people grabbing everything in site. I went for an XBOX360 and was the only person in line last year for that item, LOL!!! I probably could of waited but didn't want to chance them selling out - I wanted that $50.00 gift card, LOL!!!
This year, I've seen nothing in the BF ads to make me want to get up that eary except that our mall which is across the street from where I live is giving out gift bags to the first 500 shoppers at 6:00am and randomly in those bags are really GREAT prizes: $25, $50, $100 gift cards, a Wii, several shopping sprees - I told DH about it last night and he said he would get up and stand in line with me so we can get two bags (have to be 18 to get a bag).
Still not sure it's worth it but I'm thinking about it. We have a Wii but would love a gift card to the mall.
4 AM here also...pretty much all the same times for opening here. I can't wait to go....it is a family tradition. My husband is even going to be the D.D. [designated driver]. This is his second year and he thinks my sisters and I are nuts. We are but we get some pretty good bargins with the team approach. Have fun everyone and be careful out there.....
