Black Friday starting at 6AM?

Your correct that Target doesn't advertise "door busters" but a lot of their really low priced items are limited quanities. So, while it's not in print as a "door buster", if you don't get there early, you won't get one.

4 years ago is the first time we went early. Target had a digital camera DH wanted to get me. Luckily, we got in line at the right time. By the time DH got back to electronics, they only had 6 of the 20 they had in stock left. He got a laugh, as it was so crowded, the sales people were litterly standing on stool, yelling asking who was there for what and if you weren't right at the counter, and it was small enought they would toss it to you.

Ditto. Last year I was up at 4 AM to hit Kohl's, so figured I'd go to Target since I was up anyway. Got there about 5ish, I was about the 4th person in line. By the time they opened the doors at 6, I'd guesstimate there were about 150 in line behind us. One of the hot items was a really cheap LCD tv, they only had ten in the store, and the 3 people ahead of me all were getting one (I was not, I wanted the Kodak digital frame for $35 and one or two other more minor deals). So anyone behind say the 10th or 15th person wasn't going to get a tv, even though it wasn't really a door buster per say.

I have to say, my Target was really well organized last year, they did a great job with crowd control, and even gave out free Starbucks mint mocha samples! :goodvibes

I will be in Manhatten NYC Black Friday..anyone know what happens there?:confused3

I've already been told that I'll be scheduled at 3 a.m. that day at Penney's :( We open at 4, but I go in a hour before opening. This will be the 3rd year in a row I've had to do the early shift :(

Not really BF--they don't have too many of the stores that have door busters. There is a new JC Penney at Herald Square, maybe they'll have some specials & maybe the Toys R Us in Times Square will have some too.

I heard that 'Cyber Monday' on november 30th is supposed to be bigger than black friday. Frankly, I never go out early. It isn't worth it to me. :p

Agreed. I work til midnight, so getting up at 3 or 4am to go shopping really doesn't work for me AT ALL. Instead, I shop online right when I get off work as most stores start their BF online at midnight. Then I do a lot of shopping online for Cyber Monday. Has always worked out really well for me. :thumbsup2

Only suckers go to the stores, the best deals are usually online now and days, a lot easier to wake up and go to the computer. Amazon alone was amazing last year.

Some of us are talented enough to take advantage of both in-store and online deals. ;)

You may be a talented shopper; but i guarantee I am a smarter shopper. ::yes:: (the most annoying smiley)

That's quite a guarantee! We might have to compare notes. :thumbsup2

If you look at my location... we don't have any chain stores here so I am savage online. I usually post the best ones here but they mostly go unnoticed.

Target really doesn't do a "blackfriday" kind of thing no door busters- so really it's just a stop at the end for me. Or am I missing something??

This year we'll have a BEST BUY! First time for that store here and I'm guessing it'll be packed. I was hearing some stores would open at midnight!! Which I think would make it worse. I think it's harder for people to get up early vs. just stay up.

I generally get in a line at around 5. And I'm middle of the line. It depends what's on sale this year.

For Best Buy on BF bring your camping gear. We got a Best Buy in a plaza last year and people were camped out by 2 pm thanksgiving day -- almost a full day before.

I'm a wierdo - I just like the Black Friday energy! I don't get "gotta have" over anything because I'd be too type A and ruin it for myself. I just like getting up when it is dark and meeting other crazy shoppers! Then a nice afternoon nap!

My mother comes with me when they are here for Thanksgiving and last year when they weren't my husband actually got up early with me!

As I will be a WDW this year for the first time, I'm getting up in time for rope drop at MK. That's sleeping late for you guys!! :goodvibes

Good luck with those deals!! :thumbsup2

I am sooo jealous!! Last Black Friday I was up in time for rope drop at AK. I was just looking at those pictures this morning (working on a photo book). And I remember last year thinking of all those folks out shopping and getting the good deals and not missing being there one bit!!!

You poor thing! I don't know if I'm going to do anything for BF this year. I work from home so I could feasibly stagger up to the mall or somewhere in sweats and still be home in time for work (8 am), but I don't know if it'll be worth the hassle. If Bath & Body Works has something really good going on, I might hit that.
