Black Friday Sales for LAST Year - 2002

Be careful at Target also because they do have an electonics re-stocking fee. I have become a die-hard end cap shopper at Target, and only occasionally indulge in things that I know are the best price possible or that I can not get anywhere else. They have a really lousy return policy on all things (gee can you tell I'm a little bitter!LOL). Long story short I bought a leather coat in October, DS received it for Christmas and January the zipper locked up with him in it--they would not exchange the coat even with the reciept. They could give me store credit for the lowest selling price in the computer--a whopping $14.01 for the $80.00jacket. I did some fancy phone calling to hdq. and had the matter resolved to my satisfation, BUT what a hassle! Also, be careful and don't count on all Target stores to participate in the sale. I have been refused electronics for the sale price with the flyer during regular weekly sales at my Target--they just say they are not participating in the sale. Again I've called the 800# and they said is was perfectly alright for the store manager to opt out rather than participate.

You may want to check with your local Target. Our store is 7 days for an adjustment with the receipt. They have just changed this. It used to be 14 days but it is now 7. Bummer!

And yet here in the middle of Wisconsin, we know EXACTLY what Black Friday is! My WM is quiet that morning - everyone heads to the bigger towns. Yet, will I be here? NO!!! So I have to find a way to grab one of those GB Advances!

Do you happen to have the phone number of Target's headquarters? I have a huge concern about the way I was belittled for asking a simple question. I would love to convey my experience to "real" management.

Not offhand, but I'll check and see if I filed it somewhere. You should be able to get the number near the front of the store (service desk area) on a flyer--red with white print.

Thanks, I called the return policy phone number and spoke to a very nice man. He told me that the person in the store that I talked to was not the manager and that they would forward my complaint to the appropriate person. I asked that this person call me. I hope I will hear from him/her soon.

Also, I will be returning the Gamecube this morning. I hope they do not try to charge me a restocking fee. Yesterday there was no mention of this by either the "manager" or the customer service person.

If they want us to get excited about their sales and make the trip to their store on such a crazy day, why do they care if we find out a bit earlier than the Sunday flyer??

From the last 2 years, Best Buy in our town doesn't open until 7:00 a.m. and people who were in line as early as 5:30 & 6:00 a.m. still were NOT able to get the item they wanted as some of the really HOT bargains were available in such limited quantities. The line at our Best Buy wraps around the store and must have 300 people in line by time 7:00 arrives. I spend my time at Toys R Us and Wal-Mart and forgo standing in line at Best Buy only to be extremely disappointed when my desired item is OUT OF STOCK!!! Just thought I would mention as a word of caution.
