The Woodfield store had a Christmas Party today. You got to pick up your ornament and watch a video about Aulani - but the big news - according to the sales people they just found out about it this morning - is that for the first time DVC is having a Black Friday sale. Next weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday - you get an extra 10% off points purchased at Aulani, BLT, SSR, and AKV. The discounts are the same as the webcast
100 pts - $12 pp discount
250 pts - $18 pp discount
The extra 10% off is in addition to those discounts. You also get this years points and no closing costs. I know that BLT, SSR and AKV are selling at $120. I'm not sure about Aulani. The CMs are unsure of whether it is the discount first and then the additional 10% off ir vice versa. You have to make an appointment and actually go into the store to get the deal. They will also comp you your valet parking.

Would love to add on, but don't think I can convince DH.:goodvibes

Forgot to mention that you can get the 10% off for smaller contracts - 50 pts - you just don't get the other discount.

Thank you for posting this information.

We may be calling them to make an appointment.

Just returned home from Doorway to Dreams myself. I spoke at length with Vacation Club Guide Derek and I just have a couple of additions to the above information.

The price for DVC is going up to $130 on December 1. This is the very first ever Doorway to Dreams Black Friday event. It is being held at both Doorway to Dreams in Chicago and in New York. You absolutely must be there in person this Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Aulani is also $120 per point, as well as SSR, AKV and BLT. The current promotion of $12 per point comes off for 100 points+, up to 250 points which then kicks in at $18 per point off, then the additional 10% comes off for Black Friday.

The no closing costs I believe is strictly for add ons. The Black Friday promotion is good for new purchasers, but I do believe closing costs will apply. Unless someone has heard otherwise..

If you go ahead with your purchase, they will then comp the valet parking in Chicago. Not sure about New York on that..

In light of the $130 price as of December 1 - just around the corner - this is a fabulous deal. I think John and I figured it comes in somewhere around $97 per point if we were to do a 100 point add on. Very tempting..

I strongly urge those interested to go ahead and make your appointments for the Black Friday special sale. There were crowds up to 300 strong today waiting to get into DTD during the Xmas Party!

How was the event at Woodfield? We were going to go, but naps didn't fit into the schedule.

We got their at 12:20 and had to wait about 30 min to get into the store. Glad we waited. The ornament - I'm pretty sure it will be the one given at the Merry Mixer - and it was cute. It was nice to see the scale model of Aulani and the kids enjoyed the sweets. When we left at 2:00, the line had died down. I think the CMs were a little overwhelmed by the crowds, but they handled it well. We walked away feeling like it was a good deal for BLT and Aulani, but not so much for AKV and SSR (because of resale prices).

We were there too today around the same time--12:30ish. Maybe we were in the same group and didn't know it!

I think it comes to about 97/point after the discount. 100 points more would be great... we're thinking about it.

Don't think so - we talked with a CM for a while and the gift card was never mentioned.

Did I read correctly this sale is only for in person guests at the specific stores? People like myself that don't live anywhere close to a store are out of luck?

I was wondering the same. Can you get these rates from your Disney sales person.

It does not matter where you live. However, you must present yourself in person in either the Chicago or New York Doorway to Dreams store to make the purchase. You must make an appointment for Friday, Saturday or Sunday for the Black Friday special sale. You cannot obtain these special prices any other way from DVC.

So, might be worth a trip for many who in different areas....

I understand this is Black Friday weekend and you go out to get the deals. But, DVC/member services is set up so that we call in to buy points. They don't have normal stores available for everyone to go into to purchase.
I don't find it acceptable to only offer this promotion to specific regions where they have the two stores.

This same deal was announced on the Disney Traveler webcast if you called member services, including gift cards and $'s off at point marks. Unless I'm missing something.

The only possible difference is the 10% piece I suppose. Anyone tried to call member services to say you're no where close to a mall location but would buy right now for that deal?

Sigh, Great Deal... Wish I had the $9700 to spend right now... be nice to guarantee a Magic Kingdom view ever couple of years to go along with my SSR points. Best thing I have them run in years... since I think the SSR Friends and Family Discount in 2006 or 2007.

I did, my guide has me writing a letter to his manager.

Good luck, keep us posted! Had I known this was coming I'd not have purchased my BLT points in August. I'd have waited until now and gotten 100 pts for only slightly more than what I paid for 75 at the time.

Bad timing is right. Bring this back next year or in two years and then
were talking.....

I would love to jump on this deal as well! My guide is actually out of the Chicago office, and it would be nice to meet her. However, with that being Thanksgiving weekend, a 7 hour drive and going to WDW the following weekend, I just don't see it working out!

I would love to buy this weekend. I have a Dec UY, so if I got the $97 per point price (i think it come out to $97.40), and I got '09 points plus 100 more for '10 in under a week... it would be well worth it!
