Blabbermouths

Can somebody explain to me what compels somebody to be a blabbermouth? :confused3

I can understand a kid being a blabbermouth, but adults? :confused3

I have lost count of how many times I have overheard somebody telling somebody " I promised I wouldn't tell BUT" :confused3

Or people that ruin suprises? :confused3

We have one of those in our neighborhood. She knows EVERYTHING about EVERYONE and is not ashamed to tell it to whoever will listen. I have learned one very important thing ......NEVER tell her anything that I don't want the entire neighborhood knowing within the week!!!!

It's gossip, plain and simple and I don't get into that. Luckily, I have a very bad memory so if I passed on a story it'd be something like "did you know that someone has left her husband and....she might be pregnant, but I can't remember if that was her or that other lady....I think." :lmao:

I think its a "wanting to be liked" thing.. They think people will want to be around them more if they have all the gossip, and people being around them = people like them.
