good morning teammies!!

wow -- can't believe today is FINALE day! i did WI and i am disappointed in myself to have regained some week these final weeks, my final percentage is a mere .02% which is not nearly at all what i had aspired for.......

i have enjoyed immensely this team and this BL round, i apologize that this time of the year i just don't have much free time for DIS -- not that i'd change that, b/c it is a result of my many blessings of friends and family, and food unfortunately

so, i'm anxious to hear -- how did you do for this challenge? and where do we go from here??

Well for the last WI I have a 2.4 lb loss!!! I have not done terribly well either during this challenge, but I had a lot of fun with everyone!!!

I am looking forward to the holidays and continuing to lose and gain-better health, self confidence. Wishing the same for all of my blue teamies!!!

Good morning blue team.
I'm sad to say that I am reporting a gain for this final weigh in of 1.2.
On the up note, I have actually done well during the challenge. If I am correct I have a 21 pound loss since our BL3 challenge has started. So even though it is not as much as I had hoped for and I still have a very long way to go, it is a definite positive.

I am so thankful to have been a part of this challenge and been able to meet some very friendly and supportive DISers.

I will be trying to keep up in a WISH journal and also post over on the "massive" thread. Hopefully this is just the beginning for me of a much healthier life!:)

hey i did the math wrong....surprise surprise

i lost a total of 1.96% -- i think :teeth:

Well, I lost 0.8 this week. I am happy with that. Overall, I am happy with my results. I'll be honest, I don't remember what my starting weight was, so I can't tell you a percentage.:confused3 I wasn't able to be on the boards as much as I wanted, but this challenge was very positive for me. Thanks to all of you.

Happy Holidays!
Beth

Hey everyone! I wanted to first send a big thank you to all of you! :grouphug: I have felt honored to be the team captain, and appreciate your trust sharing your numbers with me. I know it isn't an easy thing to do. I have enjoyed getting to know all of you. Your stories have been a source of inspiration, joy, and comfort. I am glad that we could rally around some of our friends that had personal struggles as well as weight loss struggles. I have made some fantastic friends on here, and look forward to chatting with you on other threads. I am going to miss our weakly threads!:sad1: I found a home and family on our Blue team threads. A heartfelt thank you to all!:grouphug:

Now, I lost 2# this week! Very happy about that, I wanted to make sure I could post a loss for this challenge! :thumbsup2

I am running off to see my friend that I only see once or twice a year, but promise to be back tonight, I really want to make commentaries for everyone!

Have a great day!
Vija

Oh, I wanted to post a family tradition! This is actually a latvian tradition that my family still does.

Every year we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. We gather at my mom's house. Before each child gets their first present they must do something first to "earn" it. Ususally it is reciting a poem that has been learned, or performing on a musical instrument. When I was little I can remember scrambling on the 24th in the morning and memorizing a poem for that night! I honed my memorization skills well!;) Now, as a parent, I cherish my kids doing the same thing. I am a sentimental sap and love it!

This year my DD is reciting a poem about Santa. :santa: These poems are in latvian and she is doing a great job! DS is going to play his violin.:charac2:

As adults we sometimes get called to do one as well. And I found a great one for DH! It talks about Santa's cheeks.... one set are red and one set are covered by underwear! I can't wait to see the look on my mom's face!:lmao: :rotfl:

Some mousekeeping for our BL challenge...

Please remember to pm your weights today! AND PM your challenge points by noon tomorrow.

So, you may ask what happens after this week... here is a sneak peak from Biggest Loser central!

The Biggest Loser #5 will start Tuesday January 1 on NBC. Our WISH Biggest Loser 4 challenge will begin that day. It will run a little differently than BL 3. We are still working out the details and should make an announcement soon! Please keep your eyes peeled for the announcement. We will run the final thread until the winners are announced. We will then start a thread that is an "alumni" thread where we can meet some of the other challengers on the other teams. I will sneak this out, that BL4 for WISH will not be dividing into teams, it will be individual, so come and post on the alumni thread to get to know other team members! There will be something with a partner... to mirror the show, but that is a a "hush for now, and a teaser sneak peak!" This way we can help each other through the holidays and get ready to focus for the new year! If you are interested in helping out with BL4 please PM me. I know you will be all busy for this time frame, but PLEASE keep your eyes open for the BL4 thread and sign up! I would love to see you all next year!!!!:hourglass

Sorry I was so quiet last week. I am happy to report that I lost most of what I gained last week. But of course I am not sure of the numbers as they are at home. I will post back this evening.

As it is that time of the year I am really buckling down & keeping track of my calorie intake. Now that I am cut down to just my WATP's work outs in the evening, it is even more important that I keep this in check. I am really missing my outdoor walking. But with freezing temps outside in the AM and work interferences during the day it might be some time before I can start those up again. I am determined though to get some in a few times a week.

And a lastly a quick update on my DD. She is back at school for the first time in 5 weeks and just in time for mid-term finals. She missed a total of 4 weeks, since Thanksgiving break was in there. She is nearly healed from the laproscopy and only have a little discomfort. The original pain still comes and goes, so we will have to go back to her primary care doctor once cleared by the GYN. It is really hard to have your child suffering for so long, to go through the ordeal of a surgery, only to still not have a resolution.

Vija - Super job on the 2 pound loss!! I am so proud of you!:woohoo:
And I wanted to say that I love your family Christmas Eve tradition! Sometimes I wish we had traditions like that. Ahh...Instead the kids just rip into the gifts and soon as they see them and then wonder why it all went so fast.:confused3 ;)

Well teamies, I'm looking forward to the alumni thread and then the BL4 challenge.
DH is taking me to WDW with NO KIDS on Jan. 3rd - 6th for my birthday, and we are going full out with the Deluxe Dining Plan and staying at Wilderness Lodge. I'm actually hoping to lose a few more pounds before the trip since I'm sure I'll be gaining while we are there, and I don't want to lose my 30 pound clippie!;)
So needless to say, I will need the BL challenge to focus me when we get back!

Now, as for percentages, if I am figuring this correctly, I think I lost 6.88%. So I am quite happy with that. I'm thinking about putting in another ticker for 10% weight loss goals, as I've read many articles touting the benefits of losing even only 10% of your body weight. And this will give me smaller goals along the way as well. So, with my gain this week, I actually am only .5 pounds from meeting my first 10% loss. Wow, that feels good!:yay:

Hey Blue Team!

Well I am disappointed in myself as I have another gain this week. I was hoping to end the challenge with a loss but that didn't happen. At least I didn't gain to the point that I ended the challenge where I began. I am happy about that. To be honest with all of you I have fell off the wagon. I have not really taken the time for myself and I know I have to pick myself up and get back on track and I am going to do it!

Thank you Vija for all you work being our team captain! You rock!

Thank you to all my teamies for you support through out this challenge! It was great getting to know all of you and I'll be seeing you around DIS!

Congrats to everyone that has lost and had a successful challenge!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Best wishes to a healthy and happy New Year to everyone! :santa:

Michele

:goodvibes Hi Everyone
I plan to jump into full weight losing and exercising Jan 1 so I hope I can join the biggest loser for BL4, we are crusing in Sept and I want to look good in a bathing suit. For now I am just watching what I am eating with no exercise, but Jan 1 LOOK OUT 2008 HERE I COME

well I am at the same as last week - which is a total of 2 lbs down for the whole challenge - I have not done well lately and I wish I could "sit and chat spell with you" but DH is painting our bedroom and I think I am "expected" to help (I am sure some of you can relate) :lmao:
me - my thoughts - well this is my Monday (since I wasn't at work yesterday) and I NEVER do anything on Mondays :rotfl:

I will be back the first of the year - I have a goal of losing #15 before the "girl's trip to Vegas- in June) vey doable - now if I could just get my mind and hand that uses the "fork" to cooperate

Hugs to all - some real inspirational folks here - thanks Vija and ohMom for the hard work and anyone else that I left out - sure didn't mean too!

vija -- thanks for sharing a tradition and reminding me too -- i love yours, that is way cool

well i have just wound down from an evening of entertaining which leads to my tradition, it begins with family...every year for the past 13 or so years I spend a day or two baking with my mom and aunt. we have a good time together and make some great goodies! i used to deliver to my friends but as the list grew I thought 'how can i get them to pick up their cookies?' so i begin what is known as my Soup Night --- I make 3 big batches of soup and invite everyone over for soup and friendship and they take home their treats. This year i divided into 2 back-to-back Soup Nights b/c last year was so crowded, i invited 20 familes, 16 are coming. I made French onion soup, Taco soup and Loaded Potato soup. Their goodie bags this year were quite full i must say, they all got cookies, white chocolate popcorn, a few chocolate/candy dipped pretzel rods and a recipe holder with a recipe for one of the favorite cookies. so that is my tradition and one that i'm told many friend look forward too

mom -- i'm losing that same 15 lbs before i get on that plane too!!!

off to watch the finale, at least the first part

Okay now I am home and I can report that I lost 2.4 this week. If I am doing the math right I lost 16.6 pounds (9.78%) during the challange.

Hi everyone! :wave2:

Whew, what a busy day! We just got back from DS16's school concert. The kids did a great job. My DS is in the concert band as well as the jazz ensemble. During the jazz portion of the show, he and 2 other kids wore sunglasses. Along with their suits, they looked like they stepped right out of The Blue Brothers. :cool2: They really did an excellent job, and I'm very proud of my DS.

Ok, now on with my weigh-in for this week; I'm not thrilled to report this, but I am down 1 pound. That's it - ONE pound. :confused3 Oh well.

More importantly, I'm so glad to have gotten to know so many of you over the last few months. :grouphug: I will definitely be participating in WISH BL 4! :thumbsup2

P.S. Offtopic- Veronica, this morning during work I was listening to Crowncast and I had to LAUGH OUT LOUD each time you and Jamie referred to me as "Aunt Terry". :rotfl: (I was listening to the episode where Christie was discussing our hurricane cruise).

Good morning, Blue Team. I am REALLY sorry that I haven't been around for the past few weeks, but RL got in the weigh. I lost a total of about 5 pounds through the challenge, with % of about 2.1. It all comes back to the lack of activity. And, I missed this week's challenge because I plain missed this week's thread. Talk about busy!

Ooooh, Veronica, that clippie looks wonderful on you! Congratulations!

For the rest, I think that a positive spin on things is the start. Congrats to all who posted any loss at any time. Posting is the key, and I promise to better on the next challenge. Gotta run, but I'll be back!

Hi everyone! :wave2:

P.S. Offtopic- Veronica, this morning during work I was listening to Crowncast and I had to LAUGH OUT LOUD each time you and Jamie referred to me as "Aunt Terry". :rotfl: (I was listening to the episode where Christie was discussing our hurricane cruise).

But that's how I first knew you was as Aunt Terry!!! It was great doing the interview and the episode should be up today or tomorrow!!! Look forward to chatting more with you and Christie in the future!!!

OMG today was nuts for me. I went marathon Christmas shopping today an hour away from home. I went to too many places to list. Unfortunetly I just can't seem to find gifts that I want to buy. The good news, I wore my pedomitor and I walked over 6 miles in about 4 1/2 hours of shopping. The bad news...I gave into tempation and had mozzerella sticks & a corn dog for lunch. Two things I haven't had in a very very long time. But also two things that pack over half my daily calories. But the best thing is that after treating myself at lunch I was able to pass up that peppermint mocha that I was wanting later in the day. YEAH ME!

So what did I do after all this? I came home and did 30 mins of jog/walk interval training.

Now I am off to bed. Because even after all that shopping I still have to go out and finish off my life tomorrow, this time in town before work and on my lunch break.

christa you are very inspriring!!

i have done squat for regular workouts in over a week! i'm just trying to get things done and ready for the holidays...and a mental break too so i'm ready and rarin' to go on Jan 3.

i did talk with a friend last night -- he asked me if i wanted to be on his BL team? i was like huh? our local Y is organizing a challenge, teams of 5, costs $25 to join and they will have 'challenges' --- so i'm doing it! it doesn't start until Jan 14 but runs through the first of April. i think i make my goal in 3 months if i just buckle down

do you all have podcasts we can listen too?

today is the last shopping day...taking my girls for their shopping and anything last minute. it should be a good time

have a great day ladies!
