I can't believe we have been through 8 weeks already.

I have stayed the same but the exercise may not make the 150 mark this week for the challenge. I sat down to look over ds2's calc papers and I sat the wrong way and reinjured my kneee. I had a rotten night sleep because everytime I rolled over I would move the wrong way. I need about 45 minutes tonight and 45 tomorrow to finish. I don't know.

I have a lot to do this morning but will get back later.

Team Weekly Challenge #6 …this one focusing again on quality time for yourself!

Here is how it works; below you see a list of ‘tasks’. For the next 7 days you are challenged to complete as many ‘tasks’ as you can. Each one is valued at 5 pts each, maximum points are noted. During the 7 days of the challenge, keep record of a completed tasks and at the end of the week turn in your final total score to your team captain, or designated teammate.

This challenge is on your honor system, be accurate and honest with the points you award yourself

Oh Dona, I am so sorry about your knee.

I am down 4#s this week but I was up last week, but I'll take it. That makes 14 total so far.

I will be back later to check in...:)

Good weigh-in morning, teammates.

Dona- I'm so sorry you've reinjured your knee. Hope it feels better soon.

Frmercastmember- Whoo hoo!! 4 pounds is awesome, and 14 total is fantastic. Congratulations!!!

I am the same as last week, which is .6 above my starting weight. We are more than halfway through, and I need to get moving.

On the challenge questions- My favorite exercise is walking because I can do it anytime,(not that i do) it's free, I can take a short or long walk depending on how much time i have, and I can have my son come with me, or walk him to the park, or the store. Before I had my son biking was definitely my favorite, but I don't have much time to get out on my bike alone anymore. I got him a trailer bike- half a bike which attaches to mine, and we do get out once in a while on that which is fun for both of us.

Now to share the struggles I've overcome to exercise. I'd have to say, I haven't overcome them completely. I'm a single mom, and don't have much alone time, but trying to include my son in my exercise, walking and biking has helped. Also when we go to a park, he's very full of energy, and I try to move rather than sit on a bench and watch him. Now that he's in school 3 days a week, there is one morning that I have 2 hours alone before work that I get a good brisk walk in. In January that will change to 2 mornings because he'll be in school 5 days. I think my biggest stuggle to overcome is the evening eating and being a couch potato. I need to make a plan to be more active once my son is in bed. It's hard, becaus many nights I'm just wiped out.

My goal for this week, is to check in on this thread everyday, and to journal every bite of food i eat. I do so much better when I write it down.

Good luck everyone!! We can do this!!:cheer2:

Hello Black Team!
I lost 1 pound this week and am already trying to shore up my willpower for Trick or Treaters. I purchased candy I don't like (3 Musketeers, Kit Kats) to give out so that I won't be tempted to munch as I hand things out. I plan on dumping the bowl into someone's bag when things have really slowed down. I would much rather miss a person or two than have some candy tempting me! :scared:

Dona - sorry about your knee. That knee certainly has been giving you a lot of trouble.

FormrCastMbr - GREAT job! Woooo! Gotta love a big week like that.

mikamah - you mentioned one of my favorites things about walking too! It's FREE! :thumbsup2 I hear ya on the being too tired thing - especially at night! Luckily I can do my exercise mid-morning. Have you tried the WATP tapes/dvds? The library might have some you can check out. I ask because you mention one of the things that gets me - time! I like that I can, at the very least, do a 15 min tape. My kids will march right along with me. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!

:cheer2: Onward and DOWNward, Black Team!! :cheer2:

Happy Halloween Black team. It is our color's holiday!!

Geetey, thanks for the suggestion of the tapes. I've heard of them, but haven't tried them out. The library is a great suggestion too. I get tapes there for my son, but never think of myself. The other thing I tried a while ago was on Comcast cable. They had some exercise videos that were 10-15 minutes long. I remember trying some dance ones and my son wanted no part of it. I'm going to try one tonight after trick or treat. Burn off what I eat.

I'm off to buy my candy before I go to work. Have a great day everyone!!

I am under the wire here. I am just getting ready to go to bed when I forgot to answer these two questions.

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what your favorite form of exercising is (biking, running, powerwalking, yoga, etc) and why?? -- max 5 pts

I love and miss doing yoga. Summer of 2006 I did yoga every morning at 6:30 with a yoga show. THis past summer it was not on and the yoga show that was on I didn't like. I also like walking and biking but have not done enough of it lately. I tried kayaking this summer and would like to do more of it this summer.,

Share with your team in the team weekly thread what struggles you have overcome in making exercise a part of your routine? work schedules? burn-out? family responsbilities? Inspire others who face the same challenges! -- max 5 pts

My biggest struggle is that the only quiet time I have during a day is at 4:30 in the morning. With 2 boys there is always something going on. Next year will be strange since ds2 will be going to college and a good number of activities that have been part of my life will be gone. No more scouts, marching band and school play. I may have more time to exercise in the afternoon then but I am so used to getting up at 4:30 it is a habit now. Besides morning is my favorite time of the day. Even in the summer when I don't work I am still up at 5:30

I still have very little voice but am on another antibiotic and two nose sprayys so I hope that works. I think the sprays are making it easier to breath and I had a great night sleep last night and woke up raring to go.

I was able to finish the 150 minutes for 5 points
I was able to walk 10 extra minutes a day for 5 points \
I just answered the questions for another 10 points

I have a total of 20 points.
Please post or pm your points so that I can total it.

I'm glad halloween is over. I got stuck in traffic on my way home from work with the candy and opened a bag and ate 2 reeses cups, 1 bag of reese's pieces, and a hershey bar. (all snack size, but still). I closed the bag and threw it in he back of the car where I couldn't reach it the rest of the way home, but then took my son trick or treating, and continued to eat more. My stomach does not feel too great right now.
It is only one day, and I will not eat any more candy tomorrow.

Hope you all did better than I did.

I got 15 points for this week, the 5 ten minute walks and the 2 questions.

Welcome november!! This will be my losing month!!

I only bought small bags of pretzels to give out to the trick or treators since my ds2 loves pretzels and he can grab a coupleof bags on his way out the door. But ds2 also went t&t and came home with candy so I had about three or four reeses cups. But no more. I may ask him to move it to his room where I can't see it.

Got to bed too late last night and was very tired when I woke up this morning.

This new challenge for this week is up on the first post. I can do most of it but the 8 hours of sleep. That would mean I would have to go to bed at 8:30 5 nights in the next week. It ain't gonna happen!!:rotfl: :rotfl: If it was next week when I have Thurs Fri and Mon off then it could but not this week.

Have a great day everyone. Keep working hard.

My points for last week are: 20.

I am crazy trying to get ready for my trip...we leave Sat so I will not be much help to the team for next week.

Have a great week and I will check in when I get back...

Yeah Black Team!

BOY, am I glad Halloween is over!! Now to get the candy outta the house. ;) I gave in to the temptation and had a couple of snack size candies last night. I am glad this happened earlier in the week so I have plenty of time to do some damage control and still get some downward motion out of the scale.

Did everyone have a lot of trick or treaters? It was another disappointing show at our house so I was giving a handful of candy at a time. Didn't want the stuff in the house! We probably had about 24 kids total. :(

Not to great on the challenge - sorry team - I only have 15 points to report. I am hoping my exercise time will increase as the challenge continues!

Happy November, Black Team! Have a GREAT trip, FormrCastMbr!!

Where is everyone? We need more of the team to participate. I know that a few were on vacation and a few are injured but let's start hearing from moree people. I will probably send them a message this week to start to use the thread more. The ones who are using the thread are the ones who are losing the weight or at least staying the same.

Congrats to all who weighed in this week. YOu should all feel good about yourselves.

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Congratulations Black Team on your impressive victory for the THIRD week in a row. :cool1:
You have won the weigh ins for 5 out of our 8 weeks. How do you do it? :confused3

I :worship: to you again Black Team, but watch out next week for RED.
Our week is coming eventually, I just know it.

Great work, keep it up.

Have a healthy day.

Red Team Rocks!!!

WEIGH to go, Black Team!!! :cool1:

Wow! I can't believe we won again! That's excellent! Thanks to all of the team members reporting in each week! We are slowly shrinking!

On a personal note, my jeans are so loose that I can now pull them down without opening the button/zipper! Sweet!!

Congratulations Black Team!!!! That is fantastic to win again!!!

I had a good eating day, and will be walking before work tomorrow. Stayed away from my sons candy and sent a bunch home with his babysitter. He loves all the gummy candies, and only kept a few chocolate bars which I promised him I wouldn't eat when he was in bed, so I feel pretty safe. I did have a ff hot chocolate tonight for a fix.

FormrCastMbr- Have a wonderful trip!!! Give our best to Mickey!!!:woohoo:

geetey- congratulations to you on your loose jeans!!!!:cool1: That is such a great feeling. We tend to get a lot of trick or treaters, but I leave a bowl on the porch and take my son out, and we go to one end of the neighborhood then check and refill the bowl and do the other. I did hear a neighbor say there weren't as many this year.

Dona-Good idea to buy the pretzels. I shoulda done that too. Boy, you have to get up early. I used to get up at 5:30, but with my new job, it's 6:30 or 7, and I can stay awake in the evenings now. Thanks for being such a motivating and inspiring leader for us all!!!

Have a great friday everyone!!

Good Friday morning Black Team

I had a great night sleep and walked this morning for 30 minutes and I even have a better voice than yesterday.

It was funny some people came to the house last night to plan a surprise party for a friend. Two people came who I hadn't seen in 2 months and said you sound lousy. A third person came who I last week and said you sound better than last week. I know that things are coming together.

Yes I have always been an early riser but when you have two school teachers and 2 students in school usually everyone had to be out of the house by 7:15. We needed to time everything just right to get 3 - 4 showers done in a morning. It has been better since ds1 went to college we only need 3 showers going in the morning and dh and I are the shortest of them all. They two boys take the longest with ds1 taking forever in a shower. I like to be in my classroom by 6:45 so that the kids could come in anytime that they want for extra help. I also like the morning. Even in the summer I can't sleep past 5:30 I just like the morning. You will find me reading the paper or working on my laptop out in the backyard in a secluded little corner that we have in the yard.

Have a great day everyone. Keep up the hard work.

Glad your voice is doing better Dona, and you are feeling better too.

I walked before work for 45 minutes, and did ok in as far as food goes. I took my son out on a "date" to panera for soup, and then we went to the Disney store to check out the sales, and I realized that our trip to Disney is 5 months from today, so I was so excited. We did end the night at friendly's for ice cream and I got a small sundae which was delicous, and I figured out it was about 10 points, and I had stayed within my daily points for today, so it was a nice splurge to share with my son. I am determined to stay on track and see a loss on tuesday.

Here's to a losing weekend all around!!!:woohoo:

Good morning Black Team!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I've been eating healthy and staying within my ww points. No exercise yesterday with the rain, but today it's cleared out and we'll get out to walk. I was just looking at the challenge and will try to write some notes to a couple friends today.

We can do it!!!:cheer2:
