So……. here is our third COW. For those who don’t know the rules about the COWS, I will post a new COW sometime every Thursday. Each challenge week begins 12:01 am Friday morning and runs till midnight Thursday night. I figure posting the COW on Thursday gives you a little time to “plan” out how best to complete the challenge before the clock starts. Please email or PM me your score by Monday morning of the following week. (So tomorrow’s challenge score is “due” the 27th, although I recommend you pm or email it to me on Friday when you email Brenda your weight.)
If you chose not to do the COWs at all, or only get around to doing a few items on the list that is perfectly fine. You will not hurt your team. The idea is to get you thinking and doing new things on this road to a new you, not to stress you out.

Please email or PM me your scores from last week beginning Friday. My email is ferretfeet@gmail.com if that is easier. Don’t forget to include your board name, team color and of course your score.

1 Clock at least 8000 steps 4 times this week (5 points a day- max 20)

2 Eat lunch at your desk and leave the office for lunch break this week (go for a short walk or something else to clear your mind) (5 points a day -max 25)

3 Eat a healthy breakfast every day this week (5 points a day)

4 Plan to make Halloween special for someone. Whether it be something unique for your own children, bringing candy to an elderly neighbor that may not be able to get out a purchase it themselves or dressing up to give out candy to the trick or treaters. It doesn’t take a lot to make someone smile. (10 points)

5 Discuss with the group how your relationships effect your weigh loss. Are these people enablers? How can you work around that? Do they love you no matter what? How does that help or harm your efforts? Discuss (10 points)

***Just a reminder, the week after this one is a break week, which means there will be no specific challenges to accomplish. So that means I expect big scores this week, since you have a week off! There will be a new COW beginning on Halloween.***

This thread is for all losers. Just like the Biggest Loser TV show challenges this is the place where you cheer for people not necessarily on your team. This is the place to get to know the other team’s members and make the whole group a big community. Now of course you still have to return “home” from this little utopia, since after all this is a competition.

So Ladies, let’s have a COW!

So now for our first scores- drum roll

First off, I am proud to announce that we have 3 perfect scores, one from each team.

Way to go goldcupmom, SILLYANDI, and sahbushka!

And so the winner is Black team with a score of 80 points!

Blue is in second with a score of 77 points and Red is in a close third with 76 points. :cool1:

Keep up the good work gang! :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Getting to work on the COW right now...off to fix my healthy breakfast!! Thanks for the challenge again this week. Good going Black team on your points last week.

My husband is very supportive of me no matter what I decide. That is a wonderful thing and then again not at the same time.

When I am motivated and losing weight he is very encouraging.

When I am not motivated, he doesn't mind when I am overweight because "he loves me no matter what I weigh." Believe me, I would rather have him say that than having him tell me I am fat. It does make it hard to stay motivated sometimes. Again, not a complaint, just an observation of myself.

I can honestly say that no one in my family is a saboteur or enabler, any problems I have with food are strictly because I like to eat what I want when I want. That has been the hardest part of losing weight for me is making those better choices.

Family is fine with me trying to get healthy and lose weight, no enablers really, I just have to sometimes make different choices than they are making when it comes to snacks, etc. I feel that they love me no matter what but are willing to eat healthier if I'm providing the meals and snacks for them. I am trying hard to control the temptations that are brought into the house and I haven't heard too much complaining. I am the only one that can control what I put into my mouth and how much so I can't blame anyone else for it.

Where is everyone?!?!?!?!?

Come on....encouragement!!!!!!

I want to scream out!!! You are doing great!!!! Keep up the good work all!!!!

If you are just starting....Get Motivated!!!!! Fight the good fight!!!!

If you've been trying and not been "on the wagon".......Hang in there!!!! You can do better!!!!

Thanks for the pumping up this morning:goodvibes ... it has been quite here and even over on the BL thread.

I'm happy to report that I have had a healthy breakfast now for 4 days...this is an accomplishment for me as I've had to get back into the habit of even eating breakfast (I know, I know...it is the most important meal of the day;) ).

Keep up the great work everyone!!

I got a question about my scoring of the COWs, so for all those math people, I thought I would post my formula. My score is a mix of.... average score-number of participants on each team-number of "top scores" (so, for week 4 the top score was 100 and each team had 1 with that score, so all the teams got equal points for that). If I just used averages, the people who only manage to get a few points would have no incentive to try the COWs at all, since their low score would hurt their team. This way the fact that they participated at all is 1/3 of the team's score.

So for example, team A has 1 top score so 30 points (if team B had 2 scores of 100, they would get 30 and A would only get 15 points)
30 of its 60 members sent me scores, so 15 points
The average team score was 90, so 27 points, so the team score is 72.

I gave each team equal "extra credit" this week, since people are just getting started with the idea of COWs. I use Brenda’s team numbers post each week to determine team sizes if you are wondering.

My husband is my greatest support! He is always willing to eat healthy with me and he is also my own personal trainer. He will often go out and walk with me or jog with me. He also is great at giving me great incentives to reach my goals.

Just sent you a PM with my totals. Thanks for the great challenges so far!!
