This is your co-captain speaking. Welcome to Biggest Loser Blue Team airlines. As we enter cruising altitude (week 6) expect to experience a bit of turbulence. It is at this point in the game that we tend to lose members. Just fasten your seatbelts, secure all loose articles, and we will be smooth sailing (or flying) in no time!

Your captain Vija will be gone this week, so I will be posting the daily questions and keeping up replies to the thread. Let's keep happy thoughts for Vija wherever she is.

Blue Team had a rough week last week, but we can work our way through this. The important thing is to not loose sight of how far we have already come! Don't forget to check out the COW, I will post it as soon as I see the new link. You can do it BIG BLUE! I have faith in you! Now let's get going and rock this thing out!
:cheer2:

Welcome to week 6 blue team! As I mentioned in the opening post, I am going to be running the thread this week while Vija is away. Be afraid, be very afraid! LOL.

So- how did everybody do this week. I do hope that we had a better week than last week. I know that I did! I managed to lose 2.6 this week!

I wish the rest of my week was that good. I have to go see my family physician on the 31. Although I was diagnosed by the doctor I see at school as prediabetic, I have had several readings in the diabetic range. Time for a second opinion. I was also sick yesterday, I can't believe how much I slept! At least it seems to be a 24 hour thing.

Today is my last day with my seventh graders and then I switch to fourth grade. I'm bringing them mini cupcakes, and I will eat just one! Anyway, I'm rambling, so time to go to bed once I post the question of the day!

QOTD FRIDAY: If you could have Bob or Jillian as your trainer, who would it be and why?

Congrats Eeyores Butterfly on your loss. And a belated congratulations to Lisa and all the Superstars from last week.

I had a GREAT week after a frustrating date with the scale last Friday. This week I lost 5 pounds and it's exactly what I needed!!! Remember, last week on Friday I gained 3.5 lb but by Saturday it was gone--so it was quite frustrating (good it was gone fast but frustrating to have to deal with it on report day--it sure messed with me a bit!!!) So I plugged away through the week...I wasn't great but I tried. This loss is what I needed because starting today I am REALLY on!!!

I also needed this because I had started questioning why I joined this little club. I wasn't really putting forth the effort needed. I read the posts and get so inspired; I watch The Biggest Loser and I'm amazed at what they are able to do. I SAY I want/need to lose weight but I'm not "really" working hard. So with the loss, it says to me: YOU CAN DO IT. I just need to remember that and believe it all the time!!!!

QOTD: If I could have one of the trainers from The Biggest Loser I would pick Jillian. Some of my friends don't like watching the show because they think she is mean and rude. I say I NEED MEAN! I need someone to push my butt because I sure am not doing it myself!! And she does have a soft side as evidenced by the one-on-one chats she has with people. I could use that side of her too. She really does make you work--not just work out...but work on the mental side too!

To all my "loser friends" WE CAN ALL DO IT !!!!!!!! Here's to us :cheer2:

QOTD: I would choose Jillian, she is tough on her "charges" and doesn't take excuses. She is mean and forceful when she needs to be but she is also supportive and understanding as well. She would be just the kick in the butt I need.

Good Morning.

I have a .8 loss this week. Yeah!!! I think I am finally back on track.

QOTD: I'm not sure who I would pick as my trainer. I like Bob better but somedays I would definately need Jillian to kick my butt.

Talk to you all soon!

Sabrina

Hi everyone!!! I am soooo excited!!! We leave for Chicago tonight and then fly out to WDW tomorrow!!!!!   This is my 40th birthday present and I hope it is a magical trip.

One of the things on my list is to get a pic with Sully... out team mascot!:sulley:

I am happy to report that I lost a pound! I hope the food and wine festival does not do too much damage!;) But I bet all the walking around will help offset any extra fun...

I leave you in the capable hands of Eeyores Butterfly, she started the post for this week and will start next weeks post too, because....

I'll be at WALT DISNEY WORLD!!!!! (Can you tell I'm happy?):goodvibes

I think I reported on the other thread but can't remember so will again (sorry if it's a duplicate)...I had a better week with a 3 lb loss. I know we can do it blue team. Keep up the great work and remember that we can make the right choices for ourselves, we just have to do it!!

QOTD FRIDAY: If you could have Bob or Jillian as your trainer, who would it be and why? - I would pick Jillian...I think I need her toughness to see it all the way through. I know she seems so harsh but she does have a caring side about her.

Vija - Have a great trip...I'm sure it will be as magical as you are wishing.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Congratulations:cheer2: :cheer2:

Everyone is doing wonderful for so far into the challenge...I lost 1 pound not to bad after thanksgiving.

I got 50 points on my cow for this week.

Have a great week BLUE TEAM:cheer2: :cheer2:

I would pick Bob as a trainer...he movitates me more then Jillian.

Thanks, Brenda! Boy, I felt great last week when I saw my name. You'd think I'd have done a better job this week but alas, not. In fact, I gained 3lbs. Maybe I shouldn't have a high % becuase I just got kind of lazy this week. I find my motivation slipping. Maybe I'll go back and write that letter from last week's challenge even if it doesn't get us any points. But thanks for making sure I saw this. Yeah, I understand it now and feel much better about it.

And I need to do much better about the COWs. That would help a lot. Only 10 COW points this week. I have really good reasons why I couldn't do some of them (no stairs anywhere that I am during the day) but I could have done something to overcome that, I'm sure.

QOTD: Haven't watched enough of the show to know much about their personalities but I think it'd be Jillian becuase she can be such a b with an itch and would understand when I got itchy. And it'd be easy to take her attitude because I know she's doing it because she cares (and gets paid well ;-) ).

Wooo hooo... Vija's going to WDW!!!! Take lots of pictures 'cause we can't wait to see them!!!

I'm down .6 this week and feeling happy that I lost - but surprised and frustrated at how little movement (down) the scale has shown lately. I have exercised everyday for 2 weeks. This is a major deal for me - who HATES to exercise. I actually look forward to my nightly walks. I know I need to add some strength and cardio into it - but 5 weeks of walking 20-40 minutes a day has made a big difference to me. It doesn't feel like a chore any more. It doesn't hurt my knees any more. I don't feel tired after anymore.

After an episode with cookies a few weeks ago - I have stayed completely OP not using any (or very few) of my WW flex points. I have had my water everyday - which is an achivement given how little water I used to drink - so for all that I feel better - which is a good thing - so I'm trying to stay positive and facing forward and keep getting stronger and healthier.

This week I earned 50 cow points.

I'm off to California tomorrow so have a wonderful week everyone - my DH is taking me for a few days to do a Sonoma tour (We've never been). I have fears of totally blowing all my progress on drinking too much wine which leads to poor eating choices. I've told DH that I can't go and just focus on drinking wine and eating -that I need to be active and still enjoy our trip - of course being a typical man his response is lots of activity is  :rotfl:

Anyway have a great week everyone!

Lisa

Hi Everybody:

Once again, I was exactly the same this morning as last Friday morning. The scale just doesn't budge, but at least I am not gaining!

I hope our fearless leader has a wonderful vacation. I am leaving two weeks from today/ :cool1:

Butterfly, I was diagnosed as Diabetic in my late 30's. Learning how to manage everthing is difficult, but it does get easier over time. Hang in there!

In picking a trainer....
It would be Bob, hands down. The first time Jillian would yell at me, I would be out of there. No one is permitted to treat me without respect.

Have a great week everyone!

Donna

I'm popping on real quick to send in my weight- I had a great turn around week! 6 pounds!!!

Work is still very stressful and getting moreso by the day, but the healthy eating and exercise is actually helping my overall tolerance- rather than the stress causing me to eat excessively as has been my pattern.... :cool1:

It looks like the Blue Team is going to rally this week based on the previous posts- way to go blue team :woohoo:

Hi everyone. Looks like everyone had a good week. I lost 2 pounds. Looks like everyone had a great week.

I went to our State Fair today and got a Polish Sausage and green beans. I ate the sausage and not the bread. My dad asked me why I got the green beans and I told him I was trying to eat healthier. I checked on my fudge - no ribbon, but it was still fun to enter.

Have a good weekend - the weekends are always my hardest time. - Lisa.

My Weight stayed the same as last week. Which is fine with me as it is that Time of Month.

Hopefully I will be all clear when I go back to the doctor on Tuesday. So I can start doing more exercise.

I would want Jillian as my trainer. I think tough love is what I need. Although I would like Bob as well.

Hi Blues!

Looks like everyone had a great week this week. I knew we'd have a big bounce back after last week. The Red and Black had better watch out! I had a 2 pound loss this week, which I was happy about. I'm also fitting back into some of that clothes that I had crammed into a bottom drawer because I'd convinced myself that one day I would again be able to zip them without the assistance of another person.

Vija--have an awesome time on your trip. I hope all of you that have trips coming up soon enjoy every minute of your time with the mouse. We aren't looking at another trip until the fall of 2010 (we tend to go every 4-5 years), so I'll have to live vicariously through some of you until then.

Hope everyone has a fantastic losing weekend.
Jen

Sparky: Congratulations on your 5 lb loss! Kudos to you for not letting a frustrating week get the better of you. As you know, this is a journey. There will always be bumps along the road, times when the battle is up hill, but if we give up we will never reach our destination! I'm glad you were able to find your motivation. YOU CAN do it! :cheer2:

Sabrina: Great job on your weight loss. I'm glad that you feel that you are back on track!

Vija: Happy 40th birthday! Have fun at Disney, did I mention I'm soooo jealous of you! Good luck finding Sully, he is a harder one to fine. The last time I worked there the only place you could see him was at the Monsters Inc. garage at DHS. Ask a cast member to call the character hotline, they can tell you where specific characters meet and greet. princess:

Tammy: We need to change your top tag, lol. ;) ! Seriously, congratulations on the 3lb loss. You rock girlfriend! :woohoo:

Jaime: Thanksgiving, eh? I don't know much about Canadian Thanksgivings, but if they're anything like American Thanksgiving, it's a miracle not to gain! So be proud of yourself for losing a pound over a holiday. You msut be doing something right! And Congrats on the COW too! I keep forgetting about those! :yay:

Hypermommy: I'm sorry about your gain. :grouphug: It happens to all of us. The important thing is to not let it get you down and keep on trucking. You will lose next week!

nj: You had a loss! I'll take it! If you're frustrated by your seeming lack of movement, try going to the WW message boards. Those wonderful ladies (and men) are very knowledgeable. Contrary to what you may think, most people find they lose more when they eat most if not all of their Flex Points. If you're exercising, make sure to use some of your activity points too. I really encourage you to up your FP/AP this week to see if it gives you a bit of a jumpstart. Keep on trucking! :hippie:

July: I'll take a maintgain over a gain anyday! I know it's frustrating, but hang in there. You'll see it budge eventually.

Shewelch: 6 pounds?! That's awesome! Give yourself a giant pat on the back! :dance3:

Hobbester: Great job on your loss and on your healthy eating choices. State fairs are the worst! Keep up the good work! :cool1:

Becky: Doesn't being a girl suck sometimes? It's hard not to gain when it's that TOM, so congratulations on the maintain. Next week will be better! :wizard:

Jen: Contratulations on the 2 lb loss! :cheer2: It's awesome that you are fitting back into old clothes, isn't that a great feeling?

Now that all the replies are done... :surfweb:

It sounds like we definitely rallied this week. Last week was a blip on the radar, and we aren't letting it get us down! Great job!

I will admit, the last couple of days have not been that good for me. Yesterday was my birthday, and today was my last day with my kids. It didn't help that yesterday was also pot luck at the school. Between my birthday dinner, potluck, and cupcakes for the kids, its' definitely been a bad eating day.

I've also been feeling really under the weather. It probably doesn't help that my blood sugar has been all over the place. Between bad stomach cramps (I know, I shouldn't eat like that when I already don't feel well, but I didn't have the energy to care) and the nasty rainy cold weather, I haven't gotten my dog walks in.

Oh well, tomorrow I go on a tornado cleaning spree of my apartment which will definitely be activity points. Maybe I'll also be able to get my flea ridden monsters on a walk (anybody know how to get rid of fleas? I'm at my wits end!)

Here's hoping for another good week!

ETA: I'm so excited! I finally have a tag. The Tag Fairy was busy last night!

Hi Blue Team! Just checking in before we head out for the day. We have a busy weekend ahead of us. DH went back to his normal work schedule this week so he will only be with us every other weekend again. This is his weekend off so we have a million things to do. The only upside to the situation is that on his work weekends I will probably be OP more than usual.

Congratulations to all the losers this week!

I lost .5 lbs this week so I'm moving in the right direction again. I only earned 30 COW points this week but I hope to do better with this challenge. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Lea

Ugh, I'm sick of being sick. I was supposed to clean today, but ended up sleeping in and spending most of my time in bed reading. I forced myself to get up and run some errands, and started feeling better, so I went bowling with my service fraternity. Once I got back home I started feeling crappy again. I'm just so dang tired but can't sleep because my stomach and back hurt so bad. Stupid kids and their stupid viruses, remind me again why I wanted to be a teacher?

Sorry I'm so whiny tonight. I have to be at work at 7 tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. Tomorrow will be abetter day, maybe if I tell myself that enough times it will be true. :)

I hope you feel better soon. Please try and get some rest and relax. I know that is easier said then done.

What service fraternity are you in?
