I just read the challenges. 6K steps????? I'm hitting between 1K and 3K and I think the difference there is how I wear the pedometer. Ladies, I'll try... really I will.

While I'm at it... what's the correct way to wear this thing anyway? I swear, I think the # of steps I take changes depending on how I wear it.

Oh, and one more thing -- when they say 6 glasses of water, how many ounces is that? I've got these 20 oz bottles that I drink from each day.

Thanks!!!!

Stopping in! Sorry I haven't been around daily.... Super busy at work...

I am eating super great!!! I just love eating low carb! I can eat until I am almost stuffed and lose great the next AM! :) I am hoping for an awesome weigh in! :)

Hi Team Blue! My Aunt's party went really great last night. She had no idea. I wish we would have videotaped the look on her face...it was priceless. I didn't do well with food last night but I did only eat one eensy weensy piece of cake. That was the only positive of the night...

QOTD: My biggest obstacle is free time. When I have free time or things are quiet I want something to eat. I'm trying really hard to find things to occupy my free time other than food. It's really, really hard some days.

COW: I apologize in advance to my team mates but I will be in Gatlinburg Sun-Wed on vacation. We will probably spend a lot of time riding around in the Smoky Mountain Nat'l park. I will try to convince my gang to take a hike or two but the in-laws are coming too and I don't think they are up for it physically. I don't know how many points I can rack up between now and Sunday but I'm going to put forth my best effort.

I hope everyone has a great night!

Lea

I can do 1,2,4 but I have other plans for my exercise- I have been really good about riding the stationary bike 7-8 miles each morning, I am trying to be more active at soccer practices when I coach, and we are about to get my church to join an adult soccer league soon!

Well, I just totally blew it. I guess I have to start my explanation by answering the question of the day: For me the biggest challenge is low blood sugar. One of the symptoms is intense hunger, and when you go low, you have to eat something to treat it.

I was did well all day, and then all of a sudden a I was getting ready for bed, I started feeling like crap. I checked my sugar and it was 59. (Anything below 70 or in the 70's is low. Below 50 is seek medical attention low.) I had my glucoshot, basically a mini beverage with 15 grams of glucose. I tested again and it was above 73, but I still feel like crap. Now that it is sort of back where it belongs, I have to eat something so it doesn't dip again, so I got out the remains of my dinner.

I'm about to cry. I feel horrible, and this is going to blow my points right out of the water. You feel like you are going to be sick, but you also feel like you have to eat something at the same time. Not to mention that my hands are so shaky right now. I hate those damn glucose drinks. They work, but I could barely get the seal off because my hands were shaking so bad. It seems like a poor packaging choice on their part.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better, but honestly, the way I feel right now I just want to throw in the towel.

UPDATE: Well crap. I tested again, and now blood sugar is 189!? (200 is the official threshold for diabetes, anything over 140 postmeal is considered high). It was less than an hour after having the fast acting carbs and eating maybe three bites of my pasta. I even ran a control on my meter and tested again and it's not the meter. Not to mention that since my stomach was feeling funky I had to run to the bathroom pretty much immediately after eating. I hate this. :( I still feel horrible because my sugar is swinging all over the place.

I'm supposed to sub for my mentor teacher tomorrow, but with the way I'm feeling I don't know if I will be able to, which sucks. I need the money, and essentially I'm getting paid to do what I already do anyway, but I just feel so crappy. However, we aren't prepared for a real sub and tomorrow is a weird day. (Early release, so the classes are out of order and the honor roll students will be watching movies in the gym.)

Hi guys,

Sorry I have been away so long I have been feeling pretty ill I have got a cold coupled with a nasty stomach bug which didnt lead me to losing weight sadly.
I have not eaten much this week but what I have eaten has not been good so I am at 3lbs on + so not good news.
Sorry to let the blue team down.

Lisa

Must have been something in the air last night. I did badly at home too. Yesterday was DS15's birthday and I had a tiny bit of cake and ice cream and was doing pretty good on my calories even though I had more than I should have at lunch. But then I got the munchies and had a piece of fried chicken and some peanuts (while laying down in bed so that was bad). At least I took a couple of ounces in a cup and not the whole can. But I told myself I wasn't going to do that anymore. And even as I was getting them out of the can there was one part of me screaming NOOOOOO... but I did it anyway.

Don't know how my weigh in is going to go later on today. And to answer what someone earlier asked, yes, I find myself having to weigh in every day just to see what's changed. I was going to be able to report 2 lbs down, but we'll see what it's at now.

The sodium might cause a problem for you when you weigh today...I hate when I do stuff like that it is a lot less now but does still occasionally happen...I did it on Thursday...I have 3 1/2 moon:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: I could hear myself scream...noooooooo but I choose not to listen:sad2: But it happens and it's best just to move on...the biggest thing is to drink your water and lots of water if you have moments like last night...at least the water will help flush some of the sodium"salt" from the nuts and fried chicken.

Lower carb choices helps Diabeties. Try eatig things like Eggs for breakfast, Grilled chicken strips in a salad, dinner, some fish and veggies with butter (real Butter)Pasta and anything "white" flours, regular sugars will rise your Blood Sugars through the roof, then you will crash after causing a huge dip in your Blood Sugars

I have a check up with my DR Monday from my Endo/ Ablation Surgery from a year ago, hoping no cysts are returning! Cross your fingers!
I think he will be impressed that I have lost 40lbs since he last saw me!
