Welcome to week 11! Wow, we are almost 3 months into our challenge. How is everyone doing? Are there things that are exciting you, do you wish you had done something different? We have just under a month left, so make these last few weeks count!:thumbsup2

Remember to weigh in and report your results to Brenda (Dare2Dream) by PM or email. brenda@kbelectric.biz

So what are your plans for Thanksgiving? Family time, me time, relaxing time??? Share with your WISH family things that you are thankful for. How about each time you post on WISH state something you are thankful for.... Anyone up for that challenge?

Have a great week everyone!

OH, I forgot to add... if it is easier for you to weigh in on Wednesday, instead of Thursday this week, then go for it, Brenda will be accepting early weigh ins due to the holiday.:goodvibes

Hi everyone…I have been MIA for a long time. Work has been exceptionally busy and stressful and I haven’t had any time during breaks (since there have been no breaks) to read or write. But since it’s been so stressful at work I haven’t even had time to read posts at home. It was so bad last week that I completely forgot to email Brenda!! And unfortunately, when I am at home for some reason I am unable to post on the boards. I use AOL—I don’t know if that’s a problem or not. I am able to view the boards without problems. When I log in using my user name and password it shows that I am logged in. But as soon as I go to post a message, it tells me that I cannot post unless I log in. So I log in again – shows I’m logged in, but when I go to post—not logged in …anyone have any suggestions????

As for weight loss, I am not doing very well. I have to admit I really have not been trying. Somewhere along the way I lost my motivation. This is just so frustrating to me because I always say I WANT/NEED/HAVE to lose weight and then I just can’t seem to keep up with it. But on a bright side, I have basically maintained for the 4 weeks so there have not been any gains. But since I’m going on my second Disney Cruise on January 17 I’m thinking I don’t have much chance right now of losing tons of weight…especially with the approaching holidays. I’m going to try to regain some of my motivation and try to at least maintain over the holidays.

Sparky 47 glad to see you back! Hang in there and I hope you find your motivation again.:goodvibes

I also forgot to post the QOTD this morning, so here goes!

Friday QOTD: Name someone you admire, and why.

I am doing pretty good! I lost 5# this week! I guess the conference really made an impression last week.:thumbsup2 I haven't been very diligent, just ate less and exercised more. I still had fast food, and chips, just less of them.

As far as thankfullness goes, I am thankful for my family. I love them so much!

And regarding the QOTD: I admire my TaeKwonDo instructor. He has a way of teaching kids with all sorts of needs, personalities, etc. He works so well with all of them, AND he works so well with adults as well, inspiring us to work harder and harder. He has really made a difference in my life, and I will be forever thankful.

Hi guys - me again.

Sorry to be MIA for so long. It has been beyond swamped at work.

I have been stressing so much about this race that I have not been able to even begin to get excited about my upcoming trip.

We leave for Florida next Friday - the 28th, at 7:10 a.m.

We will start by going to Melbourne and staying at the Port Canaveral Radisson for the weekend.

This hotel is the "host hotel" for the Spacecoast Marathon and Half Marathon - the pasta dinner, packet pickup, etc. are here.

We get the shuttle to race site from there too - and the race starts at 6 a.m. on November 30th - next Sunday.

As for the race, I have decided it will be the Spacecoast 7 miler for me - and we are arranging (with the assistance of the Race Director) a pick up point for me.

I am very disappointed about my lack of progress, but I am not capable of anything more right now.

I will keep pressing - and the goal is to do more than the 10k that I did in PEI.

I am hoping to continue "pace training" with the help of a trainer after the race, with the goal of a half marathon next fall in prep for Disney 1010, if I get fast enough.

The scale is going down again. I gained some of the weight that I lost while sick, and I am not crazy about the new WW leader. She is giddy, cannot really relate to extremely obese people like me (she lost about 25 pounds or so, which is not insignificant but a drop in the bucket to me), and I have not been getting there the last two weeks.

I have been concentrating on training and working (mostly the latter). Luckily, I am now able to weight myself at home, which is, in itself, a bit of an accomplishment.

I continue to track points most days though, the program does work for me.

After the race, we head to Orlando on December 1st to spend the day at Universal Studios and we are checking into Pop Century and heading downtown for the festivities in Downtown Disney that evening. We are hoping to eat at the new T Rex restaurant, but they do not take reservations yet.

On Tuesday, we hit the parks, starting with Magic Kingdom. We are going for a character breakfast at the Grand Floridian and are attending Mickey's Christmas party that night.

The Candlelight Processional dinner package is on Wednesday, after the day in Animal Kingdom. We are eating at the German Pavillion and the celebrity narrator is Neil Patrick Harris.

We go to Hollywood Studios on Thursday and are eating at the Prime Time Cafe.

On Friday, back to EPCOT. My DH and my niece are swimming with dolphins that morning and then heading to Sea World. The rest of us are going to do the "Christmas around the World" - walking around the pavillions. Then its the tree lighting ceremony and eventually Illuminations.

So I should be psyched, but I am not yet.

How is everyone else doing.

Linda

Afternoon Blue. I lost 2 pounds this week. I'm glad to hear from your Sparky and Linda. I'm sorry that work has been so busy for you. Linda, I will just miss you, I'll be there the 2nd week of December. I hope you have a wonderful trip and get to rest some.

I am thankful for my family. FridayQOTD-I admire my dad a lot. He is one of those people that can do just about anything. He has the patience (which I have none) to keep trying something until it is fixed or at least he knows what kind of tool is needed - can't a hammer fix everything if you beat it hard enough?

Have a good weekend blue. I have not exercised in 3 days and i can tell. I did a community yard sale this morning so I've been working on gathering Christmas items together that I didn't use anymore. I have a box left from the sale, I'll donate them this week. My DH thought I was crazy this morning (it was very cold outside), but I told him I was making Disney money:goodvibes

Thanks hobbester.

And just to make me feel a little more "Disney like" - I tried on a Donald shirt that I have not worn for almost three years.

It was very snug then - but it fits beautifully now.

Although I have not dazzled on the scale (WW clocks me as having lost 28.5 pounds), I must be doing something right I guess.

Have a great weekend blue - we are in a winter wonderland here.

Hoping to get out tomorrow for my last "long walk"

Linda

I was down 2 lbs this week, I will be doing my WI on Thursday morning before lunch:thumbsup2 and I'm packing it my suitcase so I don't miss the last couple of weeks while we are at WDW. DH has agreed to walk with me while we are down there, he found the path between Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness, said it was approx one mile over, we'll walk around the path at Ft Wilderness for a mile then one mile back so we'll get at least our three miles in. We aren't ones that are out of the room at the crack of dawn each day, usually just relaxing around in the room but decided this trip we could do this.

As far as something I wished I'd done differently...I wish I had started walking sooner into the challenge but what's done is done...also wish that I'd started working towards taking this weight off sooner so I'd be able to wear all of my Disney shirts this trip but I WILL be wearing them all in May when we go back.

Thanksgiving plans...DH's family always gets together at a building at our house, usually between 75-85 people. Everyone brings food, we have lunch, whoever wants plays football in the front yard, then food is re-heated and they eat again. I will be taking some time to come down to the house and try to finish up our packing since we are leaving out early Friday morning. This is always a great day, the kids look forward to it and it's great to catch up with family that we might not have seen since last Thanksgiving.

I'm thankful for my DH, he is a wonderful man and a great father. He works hard to allow me to stay at home and homeschool our kids and takes on side work so that we can afford to go to WDW and other places.

Friday QOTD: Name someone you admire, and why. - Would have to be my dad...when he was diagnosed with ALS, he didn't let it get him down. He kept a great attitude all the way through even when he got to the point of not being able to feed himself. He never questioned why him or said it wasn't fair. He was 51 when he passed away in 1999 and I was only 30. It's hard to find the good in a situation like that but he taught me and DH that life is too important to worry about things that we have no control over and that life is too short to not enjoy and spend as much time as possible with our kids. We need to count our blessings each day and live each day to its fulliest. (Didn't mean to go on so long).

PRINCESS VIJA-WTG on your loss this week, that is an awesome number!!!

hobbester-GG on your loss this week too...

jimmduck-Glad that you are back. Sounds like you've got a busy week ahead but a fun one. Have a blast at Disney, we are going to be there 11/28 - 12/12.

Sparky47-Glad that you are back too, seems we've been missing quite a few people lately. Sorry but I don't have any suggestions on your logging in problems.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

Hey guys, sorry I have been crazy busy these last couple of days. But tomorrow I have off of work, so should be able to catch up.

as far as QOTD goes, we did not get a list from Biggest Loser Central this week, but I think it might be fun to open it up to our group this week. So if you have a QOTD you would like to post, go for it! have fun!

I think everyone must be very busy getting ready for Thanksgiving.

I have to say that I am thankful for you all, WISH and this BL challenge...it is helping me keep things in focus as we approach Thanksgiving and the eating that goes along with it. I am going to be taking some good veggies to our get together so that I can have more of those and less of the other stuff but still have a bite of dessert if it hits me.

Lots on the calendar to do today along with needing to start packing since we are leaving Friday morning for Disney:).

Have a great day everyone!!!

TammyNC, I think you are right! Not many reporting in. Hopefully after Thanksgiving we will all be back together.:grouphug:

Guess what? It is my birthday today! I am 40!!!!:bday: party: I took the day off to just relax and basicly enjoy myself. I am so happy I did!

Linda, It was great to see you on here! I will be praying for you for a safe journey and that the race is awesome for you! I am very proud of you. I know you have been working toward this race for a long time. You are very inspirational. And that is great news about the Donald shirt. Way to go!:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday Princess Vijaparty: Good for you to take a day off for yourself. That sounds like a great day!

Not much going on here. I've not been as good walking on my treadmill this week as I have in the past, my food choices have not been too bad - except for a few of those Candy caned centered Oreos that Nabisco put out this year- don't buy those, they are too good!

Hope everyone has a great holiday with their families. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love not having the stress of getting gifts, just sitting around talking after a good meal. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Later - Lisa.

I want to pop in quick to say Happy Birthday Vija!:cheer2:

I also want to wish all of you American friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

I will leave Friday morning at 7:10 am. so I'm not sure if I will be able to post until I get back, but I will.

This time next week, I will be getting ready to go to Mickey's Christmas party!

Linda

Hi Everyone. I've been avoiding posting but here goes....

Thanks for the encouragement prior to going to watch the shuttle launch - it was a spectular evening and I have lots of pictures! Vija - I'm glad you posted about the Disney person saying "how sad" when a man indicated he was dining alone. That happened to me (only at Disney though) a couple of times and I had a response ready - I had mentally rehearsed how or if I would respond and it certainly took the sting out when it did happen.

I was able to stay completely on points the whole time and exercised quite a bit as well. I took the "one treat a day" and back on track approach which really helped me evaluate whether or not something was "worth it" as my one splurge for the day. Usually it was a glass of wine or an ice cream.

I do have to report though that I am up 1.6 pounds this week. I have to be honest and say I really did not see it coming. I usually KNOW when I have been sloppy with my points - this time I felt totally in control and tucked in tight. So of course I was absolutely crushed at weigh in - I fled the meeting in tears and sat in my car and cried like a baby for 20 minutes - I mean great big hulking sobs and I won't repeat the things I called myself. I really wanted to give up. I have been at this for 11 weeks now. I have lost a total of 6.2 pounds. I am frustrated. I am angry. I feel like such a... fill in the blank.... But as bad as I was feeling I haven't given up - I may have lurked a little because I wasn't ready to end my pity party but today I am. I had my sob fest again last night about my perfect sister and my perfect mother and how crazy they make me and then I bought myself some flowers (because I can't remember the last time someone gave me flowers) and a nonfat latte with no sugar and said "ok self" - what the h*ll are you going to do about it - especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner. So I made my plan of what I am going to cook, what I will eat, and how to avoid (as much as possible) the buttons that will inevitably get pushed by my family. So I apologize for my negativity - I'm actually feeling positive inside right now. I want to say how much you ladies have rocked it this week for our Blue Team!

Vija - Happy 40th Birthday!:cake: party: I hope you enjoy your day off to just relax!

Linda, Tammy, Lisa, sparky, Vija, Brenda, and anyone else lurking out there - Thanks for all the support and encouragement you always offer to our Blue Team. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Lisa

Lisa, I'm sending you a big :grouphug: I'm so sorry that you have been having a hard time. I'm glad that you reported back in, I have been thinking about you and wondered how you were. Please post your shuttle pictures, I'm sure that was amazing. I'm sorry that people at Disney made you feel uncomfortable, but I hope you were able to overcome their ignorance and enjoy your trip. Everyone has their good and bad times, we all go through them. It sounds like you are going through a rough stage - but look at it this way, it is only going to get better! Hold your head up, as hard as it may be to do, you are an amazing person with a great spirit about you, I can tell that just from reading your post. Thursday, stop enjoy your family. Realize how much you have to be thankful for and keep a smile on your face no matter what your family says. Some types of people say or do things just to get attention, whether it hurts others or not. Judgement day will come for them, just let it go. YOU are better than that. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Blue loves you - Lisa (of course you have a great name too).

Hear Ye Hear Ye, the Weightkeeper speaks

First let's address the big dilemma of the week. Thursday is Thanksgiving. I hope you all have festive plans and a solid game plan to get you through the holiday in a healthy manner. Our usual weigh in day is Friday. I would love to hear from you then but if you are expecting to do some damage on Thursday then weigh in early or weigh in late.

You can weigh in any time as far as I am concerned. I usually do my calculations Monday afternoon. Even if you are late send in your weight report. I will use it if I can. I can change numbers up until the time the official announcement is made.

Now let's look at how we did last week. Yes we lost members as usual but we also found some. Some deleted members have returned to the fold.

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team-----Total
started week---------15-------------15------------20------------50
removed---------------2--------------1-------------4-------------7
rejoined challenge---------------------2---------------------------2
current-members------13-------------16------------16------------45
not reporting 1 wk------2----------------------------2-------------4
not reporting 2 wk------2--------------5-------------3------------10
weigh ins for week------9-------------11------------11------------31

Blue Team Week 10

11 weigh ins
2 gains totaling 2.6 lbs
2 maintains
7 losses totaling 26 lbs
1 removed from challenge with loss totaling 11 lbs
2 rejoining with losses of .6 pounds

Weekly net loss 23.4 lbs
Cumulative net loss 140.5 lbs

Now the real fun begins. Let's look at our Blue Team Superstars.

Once again we will include the following disclaimers. If you skip weeks your percentage is adjusted accordingly. If you gained last week and lost this week that affects your percentage. If you lost this week but are still working on losing last weeks gain you are not named a superstar. These are the Weightkeepers rules.

And of course the standard disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. I try not to. Believe me I really pour over all this stuff before I post it for you. I strive to be as accurate as possible. If you have a concern please PM or email me.

and now announcing our weekly Biggest Loser Team Champions

#1-The Blue Team-0.564%

Congratulations BLUE!!! We have not been #1 since week 3. This victory gives us 3 weeks at #1, tied with Red, but behind Black with 4 weeks. Can we claim victory next week to tie Black? I know we can.

How many more weigh ins gang? 3, yes three. I am expecting Fridays numbers to be ugly but you may surprise me. After that we have two weeks to finish this thing out. Staying in control this week could really help you finish this with a bang.

Do you have a solid Thanksgiving game plan? Make your mind up now. Prepare for those temptations. It's OK to enjoy but don't overindulge. Exercise to make up for the additional calories on Thursday.

There is so much more to enjoy in life than food.

Have a healthy day!

YEA VIJA!- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO! :cheer2: YEA BLUE! :woohoo:

Exercise is key! I have felt so much stronger and in control since I have been working out harder and taking extra trips to the soccer field with my girls to kick around and play. I put my eldest on my exercise bike this evening to earn more internet and TV time.

My Thanksgiving plan: I have no intention to limit the glasses of wine, but I will replace some of the cheese snacking with carrots, and no "stop light" desserts (3 pieces of pie on one plate). I will take small portions of the really sugary or fatty casseroles. I will leave the skin and dark meat, and eat only the white meat of the turkey. Dressing will be savored slowly and portions will be reasonable. Bread intake will be minimal if at all. I will take the girls to the park at least once and encourage the family to play Wii, rather than just naps and football games.

I have already started my Christmas cards and Christmas shopping and refuse to have anything to do with Black Friday since it totally stresses me out. Fortunately my team (UNC) will be playing soccer and I will take my family to the NCAA game in Chapel Hill.

I already am more excited about the holidays and will be much more fit in the end. Thanks for the support, Blue! :grouphug:

Congratulations Princess Vija. A birthday and the #1 slot for weight loss, that is great :goodvibes .

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Eat what you want, but just in smaller portions - then exercise like crazy Friday:rotfl2: I look forward to hearing how well everyone did. - Lisa.

Happy Birthday Princess Vija :bday: and Congrats :cheer2: on being #1 for our Blue Team this week.

Lisa - I would love to see your pictures too. Hang in there with the family, remember to keep focused on yourself and how you are getting yourself healthy!!

My plan for Thanksgiving is that I will be in control of what I put on my plate and what I put in my mouth. I'm going to snack on some raw veggies before we go up for lunch and load up on my water. I hope to go for a walk while the guys play football but will depend if someone will tag along (DH doesn't want me going alone). If not, it will be Saturday before I can get a good walk in. We will be leaving early Friday morning and driving to Disney, once we get there we are all ready for a rest, bite of dinner and bed but we'll be up and ready Saturday morning. My plan is to WI tomorrow morning and then will use next week walking between Wilderness Lodge and Ft Wilderness to keep my WI hopefully down for next week.

WTG Blue on being #1 this week, great job!!! Keep up the great work!!!:thumbsup2

Tammy, have a great time in Disney. Looks like your weather should be nice. I know you can't wait to see all of the Christmas decorations. Take it in slowly, Disney time always goes by too fast! - Lisa.
