I'm planning on booking a studio for SSR 21-26 April, but I need to rent points and am not in a position to confirm dates so cant make the booking until January.

However it has been mentioned that everywhere is booked up this week except OKW & SSR. Am getting worried that there wont even be a studio left at SSR by the time we book in January.

What do you think? Does anyone know rougly what the availability is for studios at SSR for that week at the minute?

Members don't have access to inventory information like that. January to April isn't much advance time, and it's possible that you may be on a waitlist for a day or two, or perhaps have to move between the two resorts. If you could do anything before January, I would do it.

I would make alternative plans through DRC (CRO) as a backup. If you call in the res you have up to 6 days out to cancel, if you book on-line it's 45.

I booked that week in April last week after I closed at SSR.
I called and they had SSR, OKW, AKV and WL available for a studio.
The reservation person I talked to said there was still tons of availabitlty at SSR, AKV and OKW and there were only 3 studios for that week at WL available.
BCV had 2 of the 5 nights available I was looking for. I didn't check BWV.

I went with SSR because this will be my first stay as an owner and I wanted to stay at my home resort for my first visit.

Just breathing easier here. I just started my day-by-day for my April 27-May 9 vacation trip. Booking at the 7 month window and was somewhat relieved when the CM told me pretty much everything was available for my timeframe, so it does look like things are openning up as we get closer to May. I've never had a problem booking at the 7 month window for early May before and was pretty scared last week after reading some of these threads. Boy, when she told me that the BWV-BW view was wide open for the next 2 weeks if I wanted that, I felt so much better (I did opt for just regular BWV-P-studio). I didn't even try anywhere else after hearing that so much was available at the BWV. Though I am a BWV owner, I have a ton of SSR bank points to use and tend to save my BWV points for the harder to get reservations (Oct. F&W). So I just joined the ranks of calling DBD.

I have Vero Beach '07 points I have to use or lose, and I called on Wednesday at the 7 mos. mark, and could get anything, even Boardwalk Views and standard views, for the end of April. I didn't check about the GV, but that was a lot of inventory available at the 7 mos. Makes you wonder if it really is all that hard to ressie at 7 mos.

Maybe not, but seems like at 6 and a half months for April its tough this year:

Looks like it might be a Spring Break school out thing. One of the wonders of trip planning in the U.S. is that if an East Coast state has a week off school, Disney gets busy - and for those of us that aren't in that East Coast state, it can be a mystery as to why.

(And it isn't just East Coast, we go during the Minnesota Teachers Conference - and ALWAYS run into other Minnesotans - the park gets full of Twins hats that week).

I'm currently doing a day by day booking for a studio at BCV starting at the end of April and going into May. I can only speak for that resort and room size, but the lady said for mid-late April and into a bit of May there are still availability left but May 1st seems to be the tightest so far.

Unless you call and ask specifically for your dates, location and room size, I doubt you'll know. What people say they have here and what is available for your stays might be two totally different things

Ya know, I wonder if even individual weeks within a month have different demands. I had already booked at 11 mos for April 19-25. But the week after seems wide open. Reading your thread, it looks like the 19-25 is in high demand. Is it all because of some school districts out?

That's what it sort of looks like. Or it could be that resort owners aren't enough to book up at seven months, but when you get the influx of non-resort owners after the seven month point, two weeks makes a difference.

I'm trying to get a two bedroom at one of the Epcot resorts (BWV or BCV) for April, and can't find much of anything - just scattered nights here and there. Plenty of one bedrooms still available, but two bedrooms and studios are scarce. OKW and SS are still available, though. I've never had this much trouble booking a spring trip before!

Just finished a DBD booking for the beginning of May at BCV (2BR) and had no problems, in fact the CM said there were quite a few more 2BRs at BWV than BCV. It sounds like April is getting harder and harder to book because of school vacations. Are your dates flexible....maybe you could check early May? Good Luck!

I agree, April was harder. I just finished booking a DBD for 2 weeks to include the last week of April and the first week of May. April was much harder as the CMs would advise me to call first thing in the morning. When I got to the second week things really got easier. I even called today and reserved a 1 bedroom at BWV standard view for my daughter and called at the 7 month checkout night.

Just wanted to let you know I have now 5 nights in a studio at SSR, and then 5 nights at VWL, starting from 21st November.

:cool1:

We needed to add 1 night (studio) for BWV for end of April for our stay before the cruise, and we had no problems adding that yesterday. She said there was lots of availability for end of April/1st week of May as we are going then as well. We also added 1 night to end of our 8 days at AKV yesterday as well (1 bedroom), with no problems either (this is all part of the same trip). Not sure if you will have the same luck in January, but I've spoken with MS several times over the past few weeks about this exact same time period as we have just finalized our trip as well, and they have said there is good availability for most resorts.

Good luck, Tiger :)
