Bistro De Paris.....our "just desserts" review

This and the rice pudding would be my favourite things so far. Did the chocolate mint soup taste like the mint flavour came from actual mint leaves or creme de menthe? Was it a dark chocolate or a milk chocolate taste? I'd love to make some of these things (esp. the rice pudding and chocolate mint soup) and wonder if you guys ever get the recipes from the restaurant?
In case you do, we've got a Dis Board Disney Recipe exchange going and would LOVE for DIs Boarders to come and share their recipes. The more participants, the more new Disney recipes to try at home.

The mint chocolate soup, was a dark chocolate....and I would say it was infused with Mint Oils.....the taste was pronounced and delicious.

I also LOVED the rice pudding....we've never asked for recipes before, but we could in the future.....

That would be awesome because you're there a lot and the restaurants probably know you well - I mean how can they miss 2 tall, dark and hawt guys like you and the K-Man?

I wouldn't have thought of mint oils but it makes sense. The recipe I have melts the chocolate with chopped mint leaves (which then get strained out) so they'd probably impart some oil but not as concentrated perhaps.

EVERY DAY of my life, I ask the same question....

I have never been tagged by the fairies....and LORD knows...I know TONS of fairies!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Killer of the situation...The K-Man, got TAGGED as a result of his VERY FIRST POST on the DIS.....as a result of our review from the Bistro back in April 2006....:scared1: :scared1:

here is a link to it....his VERY first post and he got tagged....

I remember that!
It was funny to read through it again!

The final installment!

Souffle chaud au chocolat, sorbet a la poire williams
bistrodeparis032108-018.jpg

Warm chocolate soufflé, pear sorbet

Our garcon holding true to form the entire evening....brings us our final offering of the evening...

Chocolate Souffle and Pear Sorbet.....this again was a version of help yourself, as he didn't bother to pour the sauce into the souffle....but as another poster pointed out....it does make for a wonderful picture.

The Souffle was actually a nice end cap to the evening....I don't think we could have eaten another thing!

It was light and airy....and the pear sorbet tasted just like I was biting into a bosc pear (my faves!)

So to tie this all up...

We worked our way through 8 course (1 cheese, 7 dessert)

with 22 different tastes during the evening (well...not including the liquor! :drinking1 )

GLUTTONY...pure gluttony!

I've really enjoyed your review!

May I be so bold as to ask how well you tipped your lackluster server? Did you let him know (or the manager know) that he served the souflees wrong? I would never have known to put the liquor inside (I stick mainly to candy bars and Ben & Jerrys - sweet and easy!) so I rely on the server to know such things!

We use the Disney Dining Experience Card and as a result there is an automatic tip of 18% added to the bill. That was all the garcon got from us.

On the way out we did speak with the manager, but that is a much longer story that I will explain later today.

Ahhem, Bob....Kevin....you still there?? :rolleyes1

Plan to leave us hanging much longer? This kind of wait might be viewed as torture! ;)

OK ... OK ... so I've been among the missing ... you see, every once in a while I have this reality check called WORK! :wizard: :surfweb:

The garcon got his required 18% and we got out 18,000,000 calories. Anyone know how many Points that might be in Waist Watchers?
