DS(15), DD(18) and DH all celebrating Birthdays around the time we will be in WDW. Any suggestions? (We are already having a surprise (to DH) re-hitching for our 22nd anniversary as well).

We have done a birthday illuminations cruise for a family birthday. They put balloons, streamers and such on the pontoon boat and serve a birthday cake while watching Illuminations. It was a lot of fun. My DD loved it when the other boats sang "Happy Birthday" to her and then people on the shore after Illuminations sange "Happy Birthday" to her, also.

We have let our resort know about birthdays and they have sent balloons with a card to our room while we were out. I have read that sometimes nothing happens, but we have been lucky.

Let the restaraunt know it is a birthday celebration with the reservation and when you check in. The birthday person will get a cupcake and an announcement about that special person's birthday. We had DS's birthday dinner at Teppanayki last year, and they brought out an entire cake out for our table. Everyone on the room sang "Happy Birthday" to him.

Get a Happy Birthday button from Guest Relations to wear for the day. It says "It's my birthday".

Have a great time.

Thanks for the suggestions-How hard is it to book a cruise?

Do the resorts have birthday badges?

I believe the cruises are hard to book and you have to do it on the 60 day mark.

Check out here to find when to call for the reservation: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/pscalc/dispsreport.htmle

I would do it when they open at 7 am that day to make sure you get the reservation. It does require a credit card. It is pricey but well worth it. A few summers ago, we paid $240 and that included the tip for our cruise person. Our regular cruise we have planned this summer is only $125 for our party of 12.

I was lucky last month for our reservation. I did not want to get up early the morning we were to make the reservation, so I tried that afternoon for the day prior to our itenerary for our party of 12. I believe the CM was laughing when I called for this because she was in shock that there was a boat that time of day I called. So I suggest to do it right when they open.

I don't believe the resorts have the birthday badges. City Hall has the badges at MK; that is where we were that day of the kids' birthdays.

Oops-too late for us. We leave in 9 days!

We went over my birthday last June. I got my pin at town hall, wore it proudly....and we had resies for the Hoop De Doo that night. It was a blast. They acknowledge birthdays and anniversaries....not to the point of major embarrassment, but just enough to feel special.

Have a fun time!

I understand now that the parks all have Birthday badges. When Iwas there for my birthday I got one at the Ak and Have seen them being handed out at MGM. I am not sure about Epcot. You do not have to be at MK to get one.

Thanks for the info-I'll be sure to keep my eyes open for them.
