Hi! My DW and I are going to be spending nine days in the World in late August, and, as it turns out, our first full day in the parks (8/22) will be my wife's 32nd birthday. I was just wondering what kind of stuff might be able to make her experience that day just a little bit more magical? Someone on here on the DIS had suggested picking up a birthday pin or button (can't remember which) for her to wear that day. Anyone know where to pick one of those up? Also, what are some really cool ideas, that are maybe just a little bit out-of-the-ordinary, for me to surprise her with that day (I am, of course, aware of, say, the fireworks cruises! :sunny: )?

Thanks, guys!!! :cloud9:

Did the gifts of a lifetime thing back in 2002 for the DW's 40th. Fantastic experience.......she still talks about it till this day......a little expensive but worth every penny.

Hi

I did a post on birthdays at Disney, and you can find it in my signature. Also, feel free to read my trip report, to see how I did my disney birthday!

Hope this helps!!

Thank you so much, greenyskp!!! My wife is gonna just practically have a coronary! :earseek:

Wow, man... They actually shut down Space Mountain for you?? That is AWESOME!

As for me and DW, we'll be in Animal Kingdom that day (her favorite park). The place she has chosen to eat for her b-day is Jiko in AKL. I made a note of it being her birthday when I made the Advanced Reservation the other day with Disney Dining, but I guess I'm gonna have to find out the number for the restaurant itself and order a surprise cake for her, or something. I suppose that I'll also be on the phone tomorrow to CRO to tell them that Monday, August 22 (the day after we check into AKL) will be my wife's birthday.

Again, thanks so, so, so much! You're kind of awesome! :goodvibes

Yes Jeff they did shut down space mountain. They asked us If we'd like a private ride and we rode the ride 3 times in a row, and everytime we came through the people in line would clap and cheer and sing happy brithday. And each time they announced "Attention Space cadets, We'd like to wish Stephenie a happy 19th birthday!!"

I hope your wife has a really great birthday!!! Make sure to make a trip report and send me the link!!! So glad I could help!!!! :)

Jeff,

My wife spent her 32nd B-day in WDW and smiled ear to ear.

Make sure you go to the Customer Service building at the front left (looking at the castle) and get one of those "It's my Birthday" pins.

Enjoy.

We just returned from spending my 40 something birthday in WDW. I picked up birthday buttons at all the parks. They have then in Downtown Disney also. Go to guest services (usually as you enter the parks) and they will give you a button.

We had dinner in 'Ohana the night before my birthday. My boyfriend mentioned my birthday when he checked in and after dinner all the staff came over with a cupcake and candle and sang Happy Birthday to me. The day of my birthday we had lunch in Cinderella's castle. I received a Magical Moments Certificate and a small cake and candle and more singing of Happy Birthday. The day after we had lunch in Epcot at LeCellier and I received a great birthday desert. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate in chocolate and in the middle there was a great chocolate shell filled with chocolate mouse and decorated with blueberries and strawberries. I also received a birthday card from my waitress. When we came back to our hotel room there were balloons an a signed card from Mickey.

I must say that Disney is the BEST place to spend a birthday and plan on doing it again. Next time we are going to try to get either Wishes or IllumiNations cruises.

Happy birthday
