Birthdays, DVC style...

We will be home (BWV) during my ds's 3rd birthday and I want to invite some relatives to celebrate with us. They happen to be FL residents. I was thinking of inviting them to go to Beaches N Cream with us for lunch. It would be 9 people. My question is can B & C handle a party of 9? Any other suggestions welcome! (We will have a car, so offsite suggestions also welcome!)

We are also interested in peoples experiences with B-days DVC style. We are going home to OKW in 2 weeks and DS will be turning six. We called member services about getting a cake made up and were quoted a price of $48 for a cake that fed 6 from Olivia's . YIKES!! Anyone have any GOOD ideas?

Our daughter will finally get to celebrate her birthday while we are on vacation. Going to Vero in April (DH won't go to WDW during Spring Break time...too crowded for his taste). Does anyone know what extra DVC/Disney touches we could have for her 12th BD?

Denise aka Stunned - beaches and creame probably can if you can go to different tables - the tables will sit 4, the booths will sit 6, the fountain sets will take 14 (?) if they are all vacant (unlikely) when you arrive - this is a very small place - so even if you have sit apart - it won't be very far.


WDWDad - for my niece's birthday I got a birthday cake (Winnie the Pooh) from the Publix, they had other Disney characters available too. They also told me (last year) that they could made what cake I needed in 24 hours notice.

DayDreamin - I have not celebrated any days or parties at VB. But when we were there in September the CM were outstanding - call them tell them what you want - or see what ideas they have (they are very creative people). They really go out of their way to make your trip as pleasant as possible.

Few years ago we took DS to Chef Mickey's for his 5th. Bought a frame at DD and gave it to him. Took a picture of him & Goofy at dinner and put it in frame. It is a classic.

WDW went all out - Painted the castle to look like a big pink birthday cake just for him. (that is my story and I'm sticking to it.)

We were at CBR, front desk sent him cards. He still has'm in his bedroom.

We did the birthday cake from Olivia's in December for my niece's 10th birthday. It came with balloons, plates, cups and napkins. It was a little pricey but she loved it. They had it all laid out on the table when we returned in the evening.

We were at Disney for my daughter's 8th birthday. We let her choose the park to go to. We went to MGM. We ate at Prime Time Cafe. I made sure when I made the reservations that I told them it was her birthday. They treated her well. Our waitress "Ma" told everyone in the restaurant that it was cousin Megan's birthday and they all sang. She passed a card around that she, the ohher staff and guests signed. They brought out a dessert with candle and everyone sang. She like it and felt special. But then this is only an option if you want to go in to a park. We will be there again for her birthday this year and I ant to get that birthday pin wherever it is you get it. I don't know where we'll eat, wherever she picks. She was born right after xmas so if we go then it ends up being her birthday. Lucky girl. Mine ids the 4th of July and it's too hot to go then. I would love it though. DH wouldn't!

We celebrated my niece's 14th birthday (she soon will be 22)with dinner at Chef Mickey's where the CMs and Mickey sang Happy Birthday to her with a cake and candles. We had told them when we made the PS. We also ordered the cake sent to our unit through MS. When we returned from dinner there was the Mickey cake with party hats, paper goods, balloons and a crad 'signed' by Mickey and Minnie. She still says it was one of her best birthdays ever! Go for it!
