Birthdays at Disney

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if it has to be your birthday on the day you are there to get a birthday badge? It is my sons 7th birthday on the 4th November but we dont go until the 21st November.
I would really like it they sung "Happy Birthday" to him when we go into Cafe Mickey for our character breakfast?
