OK...
Here is an interesting Question!

We are going to WDW in June.
We are bringing our three grandgirls.

One of them will have a birthday a little under a week after we get back home. We would like to celebrate her birthday when we are there.
Would it be frowned upon it we either pick a day for her "day" while we're there? or just say we are celebrating her birthday on this trip?

It would be so great for her to have "special things" that the CMs do on birthdays.
Any opinions?????

Just want to bump this up.

I really dont know if I should do this for my grandaughter or not.
I dont want to be dishonest and say it is her birthday when it is not. I wouldnt buy her the "today is my birthday" button, because it really wouldnt be, but I would like to give her a little birthday celebration at WDW. I think she would just LOVE that.

Maybe at a character meal or have the room decorated. I also thought of a t-shirt made up that says she is celebrating her birthday at "the world".

What do you all think?

There wouldn't be a problem with her wearing the birthday button. They are free at guest relations in the parks.

I was wished Happy Birthday several times, got a phone call from Goofy from a CM and got to ride Journey into Imagination by ourselves as a Magical Moment. They also stuck a candle in our dessert that we bought and they sang happy birthday to me at Prime Time Cafe.

If you want something more I suggest you arrange and pay for it. That way you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the reply Saftymom,
I really think I will arrange for a little cake on the last day of our trip.
It will make that day not so sad for her and the rest of us.

We just celebrated our 30th Ann. in July and everyone was sooo nice. It really made the trip extra special.

By the way I checked out your sites and pics(CBR is where we are shooting for when we go in June) they are very good. I really enjoyed them.

Dalpal, you will have a great time no matter what you do for the birthday.

Glad you enjoyed my pics. I guess you can tell I enjoy CBR??????

I was just wondering if you did something as special as a Disney trip for the other 2. To make this a birthday trip for one of them is a pretty big deal. Kids are pretty sensitive and it may make the other 2 feel left out. Also, you did not mention ages, so maybe the other 2 are older and would be OK with it.

Hi,

I have already talked to the other two(ages13 & 8 yrs) and they liked the Idea, they even want to help plan it.

The birthday girl is going to be 11.

I would only do it for the last day we are there.(that would be the closest day to her birthday) not the whole trip.

We have been planning this trip together for about 2-3 months before I came up with the birthday idea.

We have also taken them to WDW before and will probably take them again, so this isnt a one time deal.

We did this with our 5 year old this past June--we just moved her birthday up about 3 days! (No, she doesn't understand the calendar yet!) We ate at Cinderella's breakfast and told them it was her birthday, where she received a certificate signed by all of the characters and a birthday cupcake. That afternoon, we went to Mickey's Ice Cream Social at the Land in Epcot, where they sang "Happy Birthday" to her, including Pluto. She loved it, and the other two girls liked the ice cream sundaes.

I didn't get that phone call from Goofy, but I did get a cute balloon bouquet with a signed card from Tigger and Friends (after I called down to Guest Services at the hotel to find out why I didn't get a call), and got lots of birthday wishes, when the characters wish happy bday, they point at the button, and clap their paws, it's so cute!!!!! I had a bday character breakfast at Tony's Town Square since Crystal Palace was being refurbished, and got to meet my fave cutie, Tigger!!!
