Get up at 6:30am and get packed. Express check out is on the door. Out of there and on the way by 8 am to MGM where our daughters will meet us later in the day.
Get through security just fine (we only had one security guard that was a pain the entire trip) GEt in line to enter and they are giving out wrist bands. I go to see what this is all about. About 2 new pins coming out. I get one for myself and my dear husband. Once we are in line we head for the BAH and get in line. Now I want to be done by 11 for the Beauty and the Beast Show as I don't want to miss Jennye. Go through the line and notice our entire gang from the Falls TDS are in line in front of me. The 6 am gang. Pin Piggies are not there. Good! Finish getting pins and head to Starring Rolls for breakfast of a banana nut muffin and some tea. Then look at the pin cart.
Finally it is time to go to Beauty and the Beast. At first the castmember doesn't want me to go down where the interpreting is. She points out the wheelcahir are at the top and indicates to sit there. I refuse and tell her interpreters. She doesn't seem to understand. Another castmember comes up who remembers me from previous trips and sends me down. We park my wheelchair and I sit in the area for us. The show is great. Brian's expressions are getting as good as Vince's. After the show is over I give Jennye the Event Pin form Beauty and the Beast. She had a huge smile on her face.
Next is WWTBAM and Brian is interpreting that but Jennye insists that if I get to the Hot Seat she will interpret for me. Another deaf family joins us. I don't get the Hot Seat but I do get to number 2. So neat. It is only the second time I've played. Tell Brian that next time I come I will try again. In between things we are all signing between each other.
Now off for a drink, and a potty stop. Then the Backlot Tour. Jenny is already looking for me but we are early and I can't go up the stairs with her so she has a castmember take me up to a shady area to wait until time. It is only me because the kids in the other family want to ride some rides. While we are waiting for things Jennye and I talk about school and teachers. She attends the ITP I am in. I;ve actually had more of the teachers than she did. She only had 3 and after this summer I will have had all 3 of them plus 2 others. And we talk of other Miami stuff. After we finish the ride, Jennye is off to get in costume for Hunchback.
Jim and I go get seats at Hunchback. What is that juggler saying? Everyone seems to think he is funny but it isn't interpreted and I have no idea. And he is a boring juggler. My daughter does more interesting juggling as a hobby. The show is good. I love the way Brian hunches his back when he signs for the Hunchback. It has to be an uncomfortable position to hold.
Off to eat now. We go to the restaurant near Star Wars and I bump into Steven, deaf castmember. He insists I sign with his boss who is learning to sign. Steven offers to help with anything I need. He asks how I like the interpreters and tells me that they provide him with interpreteing for anything he needs on the job. After we finish talking I get a hot dog and an iced tea and we eat. Then I head for the parade. Jim will join me later as he wants to stay in the A/C. Once I get there I am joined by the other family and we talk. Both the Mom and 1 daughter are deaf. When Jennye and Brian arrive they have to move us as we were put in the wrong area. Jennye asked a castmember to not let people walk between us. The group of us moved dow a bit on the steps to better see the parade coming. Brian and Jennye are hamming it up today at the parade. They have a lot of interaction with the characters which makes it fun. The get huged frequently. When the Villians come by we start giving them the thums down sign all started by Brian. Well, the Wicked Step Mother and Cruella don't like this so they come over to stare Brian down. The Villains all tease the interpreters and us. It is a blast. Parade is finished and it is time to go to Indiana Jones.
At Indiana Jones , the castmember again wants to put me in the wheelcahir section. Finally she understands and escortsd us to the ramp and we head down. The other family follows us down and Brian and Jennye are both there. Jennye is interpreting but Brian is going to watch the show. Both the Mom, Mary and I try to get choosen for extras. Mary is choosen and Brian goes up to make sure she understands all that is said. She like me has some hearing so can follow by lipreading. Brian comes back and sits with us. the interpreters always seem to love it when the deaf are choosen to participate in things. They are so enthusiastic. We watch Indy and MAry does a great job as an extra. When it is over we go our separate ways as the kids want to go on TOT and RnRC.
I walk with Brian and Jennye over to the Animation Tour. Brian is interpreting this if any deaf want to go on it. I'm not. We're just talking until he makes sure no one will need him. Jenny goes to get her stuff and head home but comes out and we end up talking some more. My kids are supposed to meet us here. Jennye, Brian and I talk about interpreting and Interpreter Training Programs, Yep we were talking shop. Some of the classes we have or had and some we wish were given at least in workshops. No I haven't finshed my program but yes I am already interpreting some. Finally it looks like no on needs Brian so we say good bye and hope I will see them next trip.
Then we call the girls to see where they are. They just finshed RNR and are going on TOT. So we head that way. Finally about 7:15 we leave but oldest informs us we need to take her to UCF and her friends won't be there until 9pm. So we head that way. I swear it is on the opposite end of town. We get over there and foind the place then get dinner at Applebee's Not bad. Then we go to drop my daughter and get lost in the apartment complex. Finally we get out of there only to get lost trying to get back to a rode heading south to Miami. Finally find the Turnpike and head home around 11. Arrive close to 3am and I can't get to sleep untila fter 4am. Then I'm up at 7am. Yuck and I have a midterm today. TG it isn't until 5:30pm. Only good thing is the teacher says we can leave when we finish. I hope I did ok.
Great trip! Interpreters are wonderful. Angela, Vince, Tara, Sabrina, Theresa, Jennye and Brian are all top notch as well as really nice people. I loved meeting Ghosthost Steve again. Am I ever going to get him as my skipper as Safari Steve? Time will tell. Coronado Springs is not my favorite resort. In fact, I was really disappointed with it. Food court is really confusing and difficult in a wheelchair. On one day my bed was never made. Transportation was poor. And it took them 3 days to get me an amplified phome so I could hear the wake up call. Never again.
