Birthday Surprise

Well, my 40th is coming up in 14 days so my DH decided he wanted to do something special for me. He figured that I probably wouldn't want a party, which is true so he has planned some big secret. He is taking me away overnight somewhere. For DH big plan, he needed the help of our daughters, my 12yr old and his 16 and 21 year olds. The girls took me out shopping per order of the instructions from DH that was left in an envelope along with money for me to get some "formal evening wear"!!
So now the plot has thickened, only the DD21 knows where he is bringing me and she told me not to drive myself crazy trying to figure it out because I will never guess.

SO, now you will all have to wait along with me to find out what the big plan is!!

For my 40th birthday, my DH is bringing me to NYC. We are staying at Marriott Marquis right in Times Square and we are going to see THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. YEAH!!! I have not really been to the city and was wondering if anyone could help us out about any good "inexpensive" resturants, a deli or even pizzarias in the Times Square area. Also, anyother tips or suggestions. We are only staying overnight, getting there about noon with a 8pm show and heading back home in the morning.

There's John's Pizzaria at 260 W 44th St, or if you head to the TKTS booth (right near the Marquis) there'll be people giving out coupons/cheap menus for various places.

Sounds like a great get-away! I love Phantom, though have only seen the touring Broadway productions in Milwaukee 2 times.

Can't help on anything related to NYC though. Just never been there.
