Birthday Questions

Hi,

We are going to Disneyland for my Son's fourth birthday at the end of September. We are just debating what perks to get him and such so I have a few questions. Anyone that has brought a small child for their birthday that has input please chime in!

First I was wondering about the birthday sticker. Adam hates stickers being put on him and promptly takes them off. Will the cast members notice if he has a birthday pin from the cart outside of the plaza inn?

Also the birthday buckets. Are they worth it? We were debating between getting him a bucket at a character breakfast (we'll be doing the character meal either way) or the pat e cake's birthday party thing. Also we saw you could get goody bags for a birthday at the restaurants. Would we be able to just get him one? I don't really think his dad and I need one lol.

The other thing we've been debating is what character meal to go to. We really liked Goofy's kitchen for breakfast last time so we totally want to do that again. We'd also like to go for a nice Dinner character meal but aren't totally sure what is available now and if it's just princesses.

The cm's should notice his birthday pin just fine. You can always put the birthday sticker on a baseball cap or on his back to increase his chances of being noticed! The Pat E. Cake party is very cute, perfect for a child the age of your son. I also don't think its a bad deal pricewise. Each person gets their own little cake and some punch and Mickey and Minnie make an appearance (they don't do autographs but do pose for pictures). Given that any snack at Disneyland is expensive, this party/snack/character experience isn't a bad deal at all. My daughter did it for her 8th and loved it and my nieces went for their 5th and are still talking about it months later. For a character dinner without princesses, Goofy's is about your best bet. Ariel's is 100% princesses now and all the other character meals are breakfasts. If you want to do a character breakfast plus Goofy's for dinner, I love the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at PP. They play lots of fun games with the kids, its cheaper than Goofy's and we thought the food was very good. As for the birthday buckets, I don't think they are that great of a deal. My daughter's had a pin, some stickers and it came with a little cake on the top. They will bring a cupcake with a candle and sing for free, just make sure you confirm this with your server beforehand. If I had it to do all over again, I would make a goody bag myself with some inexpensive things I purchased myself either at home or at Disneyland that I know my child likes. Plus the bucket is big and a pain to deal with after the meal and on the flight home. But again, its Disneyland so the bucket isn't any more of a bad deal than anything else you buy! Good luck, Disneyland is a great place to be on a birthday, tour the Tortilla Factory and they will give your son free tortillas in honor of his special day!

Another vote for the birthday party celebration! :thumbsup2 We took DD for her 4th birthday last November and she still talks about it. :goodvibes

Speaking of b-days, I'm going to celebrate mine at DL this Friday! I'm so excited!!:Pinkbounc My b-day is this Sunday, but my boyfriend and I both requested Friday off of work to go celebrate. I guess it'll be my very merry un-birthday :)
